They do deserve a hero's welcome and I'm glad to see they are getting it. OTOH, it isn't "for a change." Once, Americans got it wrong. Our Viet Nam vets deserved much better treatment than many received. I can't think of another instance when this happened in the US. Americans are traditionally very supportive of our troops even when the war in which they've been thrown doesn't have much support.

I am with Walter on all counts. These people deserve all the support that they can get after being over there for a year.Well, I'll have to disagree.

There is only one time that I know of that our troops weren't welcomed back though and it is nice to see that the times when people like my father had to DENY that they were in Southeast Asia to get jobs are behind us!
Welcome back all you:
Soldiers
Marines
Airmen
and (last but not least)
Sailors!
Good job to all of you!

But rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming--"WOW--What a ride!"

The duty was hard.
I hope you can move forward knowing that you have served your country well!
We will keep praying for your brothers and sisters still serving in the Middle East and around the world.
