Brickyard Road, by Lynyrd SkynyrdDoesn't seem that long ago
Three of us walkin' down that road
Grey '55 Chevy parked in the front yard
Little Melody tagged along
For extra credit - who was this song about-
It was about one of the band members, Ronnie van Zandt, who was killed in a plane crash during the late 70's (ironically when the band was really coming into its own). I remember it well.
Ah but you got away, didn't you babe,
you just turned your back on the crowd,
you got away, I never once heard you say,
I need you, I don't need you,
I need you, I don't need you
and all of that jiving around.
Also for extra credit--who was this song supposedly about?

Was it allegedly about Janis Joplin? (Something about . . . on an unmade bed?
Hoping I'm correct . . .
Come the day you're mine
I'm gonna teach you to fly
We've only tasted the wine
We're gonna drain the cup dry

Sinatra - The Best is Yet to Come
Rising from the neon gloom
Shining like a crazy moon
Yeah, she turns me on like a fire -I get high

Heeeyyy! There's nothing wrong with Leonard Cohen! He may not have the looks of Paul Newman, but with a speaking voice like his, he doesn't need them!
OK, now back to Hawk's snippet . . .

Midnight Oil Hercules
The ice age is coming, the sun is zooming in
Engines stop running and the wheat is growing thin
A nuclear error, but I have no fear
London is drowning-and I live by the river

That would be London Calling, a song by The Clash. The ice age is coming, the sun is zooming in
Engines stop running and the wheat is growing thin
A nuclear error, but I have no fear
London is drowning-and I live by the river
Here's an easy one (I think).
Will you cater to every fantasy I got
Will ya hose me down with holy water, if I get too hot
Will you take me places I've never known...

I'd Do Anything For Love - Meat Loaf
OK, boys, the gloves are starting to come off . . .
I'm celebrating my love for you
With a pint of beer and a new tattoo

Like the dolphin who guides you, you bring us beside you
to light up the darkness and show us the way.
For though we are strangers in your silent world, to live on the land we must learn from the sea.
To be true as the tide and free as a wind swell, joyful and loving in letting it be.
