Okay... back to the primary focus of the thread for a moment (sorry Dennis, et. al)... PLANNING.
Next week I will start looking into m/hotels in the area for those that do not want to camp. My commitment is to locate one or two of these, try to block a set of rooms, see if we can get a discount of any kind, and provide people with the names and contact info. of others who want a roommate. Beyond that, it will be up to the individual divers to make contact with the potential roommate and to decide how the roommates want to actually book/reserve the room.

SO, to facilitate this, please send an email to :thesassyrabbit@singledivers.com and let me know the following:

1) Name
2) Email address (so I can do some group emails about this coordination instead of making you search the thread for info.)
3) What day you plan to arrive (Friday? Saturday?)
4) What day you plan to leave (Saturday? Sunday?)
5) Do you want a roommate or a private room?

Although this should go without saying, I'll say it anyway... once you agree with a roommate that you're going, please stick to your commitment, and if for some reason your plans need to change, please let them know as soon as possible in advance so that they can try to make other arrangement.

Happy 4th!

Katie

People here is a plan we can get all the eats you can eat for Saturday and Sunday morning, and a unbelieveable fajita dinner on Saturday night for the price of $25 dollars - this covers everything.

WE, I, need a head count so no-one will go hungry.

Please advise.

:banghead: Hi Mr. Barstow.  Welcome to the board.

For those of us who are thinking about camping, is it true you have no hot showers?

My showers are outdoor showers; spigots on a deck. Modesty is encouraged as there are no walls. Hot water is available on demand; but we are talking August, right?

Richard -

Thanks for signing on. I welcome your organizations hospitality for our group this coming August, it has been a few years since I have been to your facility on the lake but remember it as clean and friendly.

For the sake of answering the same questions multipule numbers of times, would you do me a favor.  Would you post in red or blue for attention purposes only on this thread - What amenities your facilities offer, and what prices your charge for what services (air, camping, other) or discounts you may offer to groups.

At a later date, I was going to get with you to see if you could provide like a door prize (t-shirt or something).  We are planning two team scavenger team dives, one for thing we will sink to be found for a prize, and another being the most unusual thing retreived for your section of lake.  Plus we will have a smaller group of planners there in late July to meet with you and check out your facilities.  Also, to get your input into other activities other organizations may have done at your sight.

I look forward to your responses and replies.

Regards,
Steve Shipe

Hmmm! Check my web site. Windy Point Website. I expect there will be questions that will need answering that are not covered there, so ask away.

FYI, I'm fresh out of doors to give away, but we'll talk when you send your scouts in late July.

Richard

Count me as IN for now. If anything changes with my class schedule I will let you know. Looks like everything should run smoothly once I get to Houston.

I can't believe it's a month away! Getting really excited, but don't know if I'll be able to stand the heat!

Can't wait for my first trip. Also, can't wait to dive some where other than Long Island Sound. I'm out just about every weekend doing cert dives with my students. :diver:

6 weeks and counting.
Here is a question: Who is bringing their own cylinders?

I want to make sure we don't have a tank shortage.

Count my head please.

TOTAL NOW stands at 5.

I will also need a tank. That is unless I buy one before then. I've been renting too many tanks lately, think its time to buy my own. Can I let you know about the tank later?

BTW :lmao: for organizing all this.

I'm figuring that since a lot of our members are relative new divers or divers that don't necessarily have complete sets of gear. Maybe if there were enough extra tanks we could loan them internally to those without. That will save us some money.

The people without tanks can just pay for the air.
