Is it right to allow someone to come on our/WWs board and dig up someones past and let it be posted?
more than 90% of you on this board probably dont have a clue what Im talking about..... thats why it is a general statement. do you really want to know what somebody did many years ago. be it a crime or a ...... etc.

do you really wanna know ??? really

I hope we can have a possitive discussion about this.

Wow! That's quite a question, Mike!

Being in the 90% majority, I'd say no!

Who cares what happened in someone's past? How are they today? If there's no negative correlation between the two, then let the past be.

No one should judge another anyway; whether one knows them or not. (Extenuating circumstances aside.)

I thought of this as a friendly place to learn about scuba, make new friends, crack a few jokes and just generally have a good time.

Which end is up?

well, it is usuallly a fun place--I don't really know why this thread was started. It just brought more attention to the whole situation. Appropriate action was taken on the matter when it came up and was well handled IMHO--we can all go about our business.

Pity it's too early for some Monopolova.

Or wait, yep, IT'S FIVE O'CLOCK SOMEWHERE!

I don't wanna know unless the person wants me to know or someone knows of someway I could be harmed (in which case it does NOT need to be a public post.)

Don't know what you are talking about, but if there is a post out there somewhere talking about someone's past, unless it was posted by the person, I say pull it.

Not sure what this is in reference to, but if you mean dragging up the past as a means to attack someone then certainly it should not be allowed.

That being said.. if that does occur, it says more about the person doing the posting than it does about the target.

I'm glad I missed it. Although I would like to know who to avoid in the future.

We all have something in our past we aren't proud of, or aren't ashamed of. The past is the past as long as that is where it stays. None of us are here to judge, or be judged, we have one judge, and he/she will make the call. I surely would not want to be judged by the stupidity of my youth. When asked if I have paid my debt to society, my response is always this.....the check is in the mail.

just my friendly 2 psi worth.
