For all those sceptics out there (Frank - but whose naming names??) I just found out that my drysuit has actually arrived!!! I will be taking my drysuit course in the next week or so and then start diving the great PNW! Any tips and tricks for a drysuit newbie?

And I thought this thread was about Yahoo the web site.

Advice for a newbie dry suit diver? Move to warmer water? Seriously, have fun with it... I've never dived dry and won't until Antarctica.

I think you've been waiting for that since you've been on the board, right!?

I'll stick to the warm water - but have fun - and hope it keeps you warm!!!

Be sure you zip it up all the way! I once had to rescue a guy who left it 1/2 " unzipped and flooded underwater. He looked like the Michelin man when I got him to the surface.... and towing him back wasn't any picnic!

In OW they use to teach when opening the K valve to turn it back a 1/4 turn, beware of divers who offer to do that with your zipper

Finally.. I was starting to think it would never be ready.

Advice... hmmmmm
make sure your zipper is zipped and keep it waxed.
before every dive make sure your exhaust valve is open.
remember you are a trained diver and can handle ANY situtation.

Finally.. the most important advice...

GET THAT DANG THING IN THE WATER AND DIVE THE HECK OUT OF IT..
You have waited long enough.

Congrats..

I think we need to see pictures and get an idea of how thick it is. First a picture of you in the buff. Then a second picture in the dry suit undies. Finally a picture of you with the dry suit on over the undies. :cool2:
