I never knew about that shrub!!

We do need a good song for us green eyed gals. How about " When Irish Eyes are Smiling"? Irish and green are almost the same.

As a woman that HAS brown eyes, let me say...

I love, love, love Van Morrison!!!

(But not that particular song.)

:teeth:

Nonetheless ... :teeth: :hiya: :teeth:

:diver:

Major kudos!!!
Cool to see another Van "the Man" Morrison fan. Brown Eyed Girl is far from his best work, and it is so over played and burned out. Songs like Moondance, Tupelo Honey and Into the Mystic are better examples of his style. My personal favorite is still his Days Like This album. Raincheck, No Religion, Days Like This, Perfect Fit; great stuff.

Green Eyed Lady - SugarLoaf

More Eye songs of the top of my head

Brown Eyed Handsome Man - The Hollies
Pretty Blue Eyes - The Crickets
Bluest Eyes in Texas - Restless Heart
Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain - Willie Nelson
Angel Eyes - The Jeff Healey Band
Smoke Gets in Your Eyes - The Platters
Look into Your Eyes - Firehouse
Behind Blue Eyes - The Who
Suite Judy Blue Eyes - Crosby Stills & Nash
Pale Blue Eyes - Velvet Underground
and the last one I could think of in one shot. . . .
Eye of the Tiger - Surviver
Take an SD trip - See old friends you have never met before!
Every existing thing is born without reason, prolongs itself out of weakness, and dies by chance. - Jean-Paul Sartre
I feel the urge, the urge to submerge! -ScubaHawk - Raptor of the Deep !
WHO DAT!!!!

Henry,

Interesting that you would choose a latter day album as your favourite! (I still think the best of his work was done in the 70s -- or at least album-wise.)

Speaking of albums...

Although my favourite overall would be Veedon Fleece, I love the live album, A Night in San Franscisco. :hiya: Who knew "Moondance" and "My Funny Valentine" would fit together so seamlessly! :diver:

As for your *eyes* songs ... :teeth:

Especially VU's "Pale Blue Eyes"! (REM has an interesting cover of it, BTW.)

If I may add two more ...

"I Only Have Eyes For You" - The Flamingos
"Them There Eyes" - Sarah Vaughan

:teeth:

I love his older stuff also, I'm a big Them fan. Veedon Fleece is a great album so is Hardnose Highway, but if I had to pick just one, non-compilation, album of Van Morrison (Shudder at the thought) I would have to go with Days Like This. Pour a nice Bacardi and Coke, Light some candles put on some Van -- Soon the action's hot and heavy -- darn shame I was alone! :teeth:

P.S. Give me some credit here, those were all the Eye songs that I could think of in one go. A dozen songs and artists in one shot! :hiya:

As soon as I sent the post I thought of
Eyes Without a Face - Billy Idol
Eye in the Sky - Alan Parson's Project
These Eyes - The Guess Who
Take an SD trip - See old friends you have never met before!

Are your eyes green or hazel? I see a conflict.

ha·zel ( P ) Pronunciation Key (hzl)
n.
1. Any of various shrubs or small trees of the genus Corylus, especially the European species C. avellana or the American species C. americana, bearing edible nuts enclosed in a leafy husk. Also called filbert.
2. A hazelnut.
3. A light brown or yellowish brown.

They are mostly green.. but they do tend to change colors.

They are not a shrub or small tree.
They are not a hazelnut
they DO sometimes turn sort of a light brown.

Walter..
they are what they are..... to put them in a specific color BOX is just too much to ask. :banghead:

Not in the title but.....

Jolene by Dolly Parton

Jolene, jolene, jolene, jolene
I’m begging of you please don’t take my man
Jolene, jolene, jolene, jolene
Please don’t take him just because you can
Your beauty is beyond compare
With flaming locks of auburn hair
With ivory skin and eyes of emerald green
Your smile is like a breath of spring
Your voice is soft like summer rain
And I cannot compete with you, jolene

He talks about you in his sleep
There’s nothing I can do to keep
From crying when he calls your name, jolene

And I can easily understand
How you could easily take my man
But you don’t know what he means to me, jolene

Jolene, jolene, jolene, jolene
I’m begging of you please don’t take my man
Jolene, jolene, jolene, jolene
Please don’t take him just because you can

You could have your choice of men
But I could never love again
He’s the only one for me, jolene

I had to have this talk with you
My happiness depends on you
And whatever you decide to do, jolene

Jolene, jolene, jolene, jolene
I’m begging of you please don’t take my man
Jolene, jolene, jolene, jolene
Please don’t take him even though you can
Jolene, jolene

I will hunt for a great song that tell how wonderful the green eyed gals are..

As suggested by Henry . . .

Green Eyed Lady by Sugarloaf

Green eyed lady, lovely lady
Strolling slowly towards the sun

Green eyed lady, ocean lady
Soothing every wave that comes

Green eyed lady, passion's lady
Dressed in love she lives for life to be

Green eyed lady, feels like I never see
Setting suns and lonely lovers free

Green eyed lady, wind swept lady
Moves the night the waves the sand

Green eyed lady, ocean lady
Child of nature, friend of man

Green eyed lady, passion's lady
Dressed in love she lives for life to be

Green eyed lady, feels like I never see
Setting sons and lonely lovers free
