We did not take any storm damage just lost power for a few days. Everyone
I know from New O and the coast are fine but some of them do not know what
their homes look like yet.

        Hello, & I survived. I made it by preparing well. I moved my mom in with me prior to the storm & we got ready for it. We preped by putting up water, gas, a generator, first aid kit, food, protection, chain saws, an axe, & food for a month just in case & as you know it was bad. We got electricity 5 days after the fact, not to much damage to the house, just a lot of downed trees. We cleaned up everything & looked around the neighborhood & talked w/everyone to see how they fared. Some did ok & some did not so good. My Mom got electricty back today. Her place is ok, just will have to do a little work over there to get it straight for her. I am working & that is kinda certain but not to certain. We will have to make some major adjustments in logistics, shippings, & in raw materials. The cost of everything we use is going up big time. How that will affect us down the road, who knows. As far as New Orleans goes, unbelieveable. You guys are not hearing anything on the news as far as what is really happening over here.
Looting, shootings, raping, deaths & all of the bad stuff. We have 110,000 people who did not leave New Orleans, 35,000 are accounted for, hopefully we find another 35k, but do the math, that leaves a lot that are not accounted for. We are still in the rescue mode, people are still calling in on their cell phones waiting to get rescued, some are still on their roofs, some still in their attics, we were told to bring an axe & put it in your attic, some did & some did not. You can figure it out from there. It was hell on earth for some of those people. The entire New Orleans police dept, got over run, they barricaded themselves in various places until help arrived. We are expecting 40,0000 armed soldiers this week, the talk of marshall law is everywhere. We are under a curfew for the rest of the month, armored cars, armed guards are common place. It is really like a bad movie that just keeps getting worse. I pray that we will pull together & get thru this & that we can get N.O. 's rebuilt. We are rescuing people using our boats, their are dead bodies everywhere, you push them out of the way & concentrate on finding the ones that are alive. We are stacking dead bodies in the SuperDome for the last 7 days. They are rotting literally. We have to get it under control quickly or we could be in dire straights. People just do not believe this & frankly, it is hard for me to believe it. I never thought that I would see this destruction & I pray I never see it again. Thanks for checking in on me. I don't know when I will get a dive in, we dive a great deal around the oil rigs here & do a lot of spear fishing, but that is on hold for a while. Listen to clear radio if you guys get it, that is broadcasting the live stuff & I don't know if you can hear it or not, it might just be local, am 850,1150,1300, & 1500. Take care & pray for us all.

Well since I actually live in missouri not mississippi I'm doing just fine other than the heartache I'm feeling for all the people in the gulf states.If any members need some help just let me know. I would even load up my gear and assist in clean up even though it's not my idea of good diving. Heck I have two bedrooms available also if anyone could use them.
