Heartache, yes...I think we all feel it.

Visit this thread for details on how you can help hurricane victims, including offering your two bedrooms. I offered mine on hurricanehousing.org.

I've seen posts by Funewgy yesterday & today so I think we can add him to the Alive & Well catagory. Wish there were more folks in that column but I'm sure that many of their lives are too disrupted right now to respond.

Going to ride this one out as well.

Please be careful and let us know when everything's over and you're safe. We'll be worrying about you.

Thanks Mandi. It is getting closer...wind has picked up, skies are moving pretty swiftly, and you can feel the temperature dropping. I got my house all taken care of last night so now it is time to sit back and wait. I will keep everyone informed as much as I can, but I am sure I will be losing power sometime this evening. Even in small thunderstorms, the Spring area loses power frequently, so I am sure that it will be even worst with Rita.

I got food, water, candles, batteries, and fuel to last a couple of weeks if needed. Get out your score cards, the rodeo is about to start.

Sure will buddy. How are things up there in Big D? I am glad that you made it safely.

Thanks, ZD. As for how it is going up here in the "D", it has kinda quiet for me, really. Checking the news often either on TV or the web to see how it is going down there. I will be going to the HH in Arlington tonight and the Wench will pick me up since I am only about five miles from her.

I was telling my sis this morning that I am so glad that I left when I did. The reports out of Houston tell stories of people only driving 50 miles in 14 hours. I thought I had it bad when it took me seven hours to get from my home in Houston to my sister's in Dallas.

Hang in there ZD!

I like to watch storms, but I know that this one is way out of my league.
