True. There are several planes that were ditched and sunk at depths which can easily reached on scuba. There are also a couple of Japanese transport ships that were beached and then left there. They are still there today.not all of them, in fact there is a plane that sticks out of the water still.
However, I doubt that any of the warships sunk during the two major naval battles are at depths which can be reached on scuba. As I said before, the USS Atlanta is considered to be the shallow one and it is at 300 feet, sunk pretty much right next to the shore. The others were sunk out in the sound.
I guess a little research might be in order to see how deep the others are at!

I don't understand the fascination with wrecks. Personally, I want to see big animals. Different strokes.
What CT said.....But here is my version....so guess what? If the wreck is established....you usually see TONS of big animals...the wreck becomes an aritificial reef...the reef supports small life...the small life support mid-sized life and the mid-sized life supports big life and the big life supports some REALLY big life. And Walter is right....the wrecks off NC cuz they have been there forever....support some REALLY big animals....sharks, cudas, large schools of gamefish, rays, etc.
See ya there...oh yes and did I mention that the water is WARM....REALLY WARM??? Like 75-85 depending on the time of season and 70-150 ft of viz....gosh I love this sport....macro ops....wrecks...artifacts....large animals....little animals....oh and did I mention the cool stuff you can find???? Yes I love this sport!!!! And really and I do mean REALLY COOL people that I'm meeting through Single Divers .com!
