Ow! That's not considered serious? I remember having only a bruised rib once and it hurt like hell. You're alive, Howard, take it easy and get well!Fortunately he was spared serious harm although ....he broke 3 ribs and possibly punctured or cut one of his internal organs. ...
Please keep him in your prayers for a full and speedy recovery! -kamala

Well, with broken ribs I don't think he's up for hugs, but the thought counts. Tell you what, I'll gladly serve as Howard's stand-in for the hugs, it's the least I can do for a fellow diver/SD member.Would a hug help? Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Some things feel better than before. Some new things are becoming more problematic. I am out of work for at least the rest of this week. I will see how I feel over the weekend to make the decision about trying to go back to work after that.
I just got the word from my insurance company today that my car is a total loss. This was not a surprise. I knew the accident was bad by the time my car came to rest on the side of the road.
I am going to get my scuba gear back from a friend of mine that was kind enough to retrieve it from my car in the tow yard. I won't know the condition of the much of my equipment until I get the chance to check it out. I really didn't have much chance to check things out at the accident scene as I was being placed into the ambulance and taken to the hospital.
I know that at least my scooter was damaged when thrown from the car during the impact. Some of my tanks were also ejected, landing on the ground. I am going to likely get my tanks hydroed just to make sure that they did not sustain any fatal damage. I can only imagine that things would have been worse had I not had everything tied down inside of my truck when the accident happened.
This is going to cost a few bucks (and then some). However, I am happy to be alive, and I am thankful that I should make a full recovery from my injuries. I will be able to live and dive again, and that is what counts right now.
Again, thanks for the well wishes of everyone.

I'm sorry to read about your car (and scooter), Howard, but you've got a great attitude. However, I am happy to be alive, and I am thankful that I should make a full recovery from my injuries. I will be able to live and dive again, and that is what counts right now.
Thanks for keeping us posted on your progress.

Materials goods are easily replaced but a life is not. I am glad he is okay.
