Hey gang...I just got a call from Howard today saying he was in a bad car accident driving home from NC this week. He left on Sunday and about 45 minutes from home he hit a puddle on the road and hydroplaned. He lost control of the car and spun off the road hitting a ditch and some trees. Fortunately he was spared serious harm although his car was totaled and he broke 3 ribs and possibly punctured or cut one of his internal organs. He was released from the hospital today and had just reached home when he called me.

He will not be able to return to work for awhile and will not be on the board much until he is doing better.

Please keep him in your prayers for a full and speedy recovery! -kamala

My prayers will be with him. It was not a good time for driving on the East coast yesterday. Donna drove up from Florence, SC where she spent the night Friday night and she saw several accidents.

If you read this guy, take care of yourself and don't try to get back to work before you are really ready. When you do, take it easy.

I'm most sorry to read of your accident. Get well soon! Your expertise will be sadly missed in the meantime.

Thanks, everyone, for your well wishes. I am taking it easy and getting lots of rest. I am thanful to be alive, and I am looking forward to making a full recovery.

I will let everyone know how it goes. I expect to be back in the water within six to eight long weeks.

I will check in when I can. Mostly, I will be resting and working on getting better.

I'm glad you are okay, man, because I'd hate to have to get dibs on your scooter and stencil "Howard's End" on the side.

Howard- glad you survived and wish you a quick recovery. There were several from SD who prayed for my sister, I'm happy to return the favor (does God listen to the prayers of heathens... I hope She does).
