Things are back to normal at my house. Things are nuts at work, but that'll soon be back to normal as well.

Hey guys!! I'm at the office today- we're on generator power & have connectivity. Just a brief post to thank you all for your kind thoughts & warm wishes. Got a lot to do so I can't stay on the site. I lost my front door early in the storm, followed by a window but did not get nearly as much damage as a result as one might expect- the wind wasn't blowing directly in. Got my furniture covered & it appears to be OK. We had water restored yesterday evening & we've got gas for our hot water so I was able to take a hot shower. Word is that it may take up to 4 weeks for power to be restored but that's worst case scenario. My neighbor has a generator & our biggest concern is getting gas for it. So, all in all we're doing pretty well. I'm not going to be able to stay on the site, nor am I am able to take any time to post or read or answer PMs right now. I hope you'll all understand. I'll be checking in, hopefully daily. Please keep the folks on the Yucatan Peninsula in your prayers- they had it far worse than we did.

holy moly!!! we got our butts kicked down here!
feels like we got run over by a Mac truck then drowned in a bucket by the storm surge

just got back online today

lots of damage everywhere! most from storm surge anywhere from 3 to 18 ft!
more than 60% of the keys sustained significant storm surge

quite a sight watching 3 ft waves of water roll over US1
if you include last year thats 8 major storms thru florida in 18 months! yikes!

how many dives this year so far? - zip! too busy prepping or cleaning

ok... back to clean up then prepping for Beta or Gamma
thanks for all the concern, hope to meet you guys someday :welcome:

oh yea... first time they had to reschedule fantasy fest - now 12/7-12/10

I was without power or water for a couple of days. Luckily, I have hurricane shutters, and my building is pretty much made from concrete. So, I had no other damage.

It was not easy for a while. Grocery stores lost power, ruining their cold food. Gas stations had no power, and they couldn't pump gas. Some people were waiting in line for gas for up to nine hours or more.

Things are coming back. It is slow. Luckily, things are pretty much back to normal in my section of town.
