2007 Destinations....I have not seen a thread started for 2007..(if so please move this to the appropriate forum)...I know I have talked with Kim about a couple of things...but my list is starting to shape up for the following places to go too..

1. March-Palau.... my 8th trip
2. May-Belize..Big maybe..did not like it earlier this month..but I gotta dive with a WhaleShark..at least once.
3. July/Aug...NC or Holbox...depending how many WhaleSharks we swim with
4. Aug-Kona
5. Sept-Philippines...Cebu area for the Thresher Sharks
6. December-Australia....my 5th trip

Suggestions anyone?

I'm interested in finding out additional information on the trips to Australia, Palau and possibly Wakatobi.

Any possible dates yet? I read you can book FF flight 330 days in advance, I really want to try to fly free for these types of trips.

Well, looking at the top trips from the recent poll...I'll commit to a Cayman trip as soon as SD dose.

I'd really like to do a Red Sea trip provided its at least two weeks with part of the time being land tours - the live aboards there look awsome. I'm also looking hard at Australia - again if its a combo thing. But I'd probably do one or the other of these, not both.

I'd love to consider Wakatobi...if SD waits until 2009 and the federal government will no longer own me and be able to restrict me from going.

I just hope that the only trips that get posted for 07 are firm. For 06 there were just too many tentatives that never got firmed up or cancaled and it was hard to plan on anything.

Second on these 3. I really want to dive in the Pacific! Would like to combine live a board with land including learning about the culture.

I may be changing jobs and would like to have some idea of what I may need to talk them into regarding days off. Can't let work get in the way of my dive trips

Okay - must I whine???? I really would like at least a response regarding WHEN we might be considering either Palau or the Aussie trip - one for saving MONEY for the trip and two for saving VACATION TIME for the trip!!!!

Could we get some sort of hopeful date please??

After reading the May/June Diver's Alert would anyone be interested in going to Revillagigedos? It sounds so neat with the big mantas and lots and lots of sharks.

Well, there is a firm trip already planned there for the end of this year (check under 2006 trips) and there are still spots open. However, speaking of whining - I can't recommend anyone sign up for this trip as I have been waiting since 18 May for clarification on where the boat is actually leaving from/returning to. Turns out what is posted may not be true and there has been no response to repeated requests.

1Q07 Either Palau or Wakatobi and MAYBE we will be able to do a Wakatobi 7 day pkg and a Bali add-on for a week....what do you all think?

4Q07 Australia (finalizing dates so it will include liveaboard and land based festivities)

As for other destinations we are interested in the following:

a. More long weekend options i.e. 3-5 days and if so where?
b. or more week long options and if so where?
c. or more US based destinations and if so where?
d. or more Caribbean destinations and if so where?
e. or more exotic destinations and if so where?
f. or more self-led SD trips where members decide to go to say Bonaire and we get them SD Special Pricing for Bonaire but unless the group exceeds 10 members it is not an SD led trip
g. or more Diving Pkg Specials where we offer great prices on dive trips and members find a dive buddy on the site (or two) to go?

I don't understand (figures) Does that mean January for Palau??

I think 1Q07 means first quarter of 2007 (sometime between Jan-Mar)
