Awwww water colder than 50 degrees...
HEAVEN... :birthday:

GG, that's why I like you! We were both clearly dropped on our heads when we were little! :)

Ah, ladies who dive cold water have got what it takes... I either have to find one, convert a WWW, or become one (a WWW that is) myself! Hmmm... getting interested in that last option.

Dr Bill ~ DON'T convert... Stay with DG and me..
Love that cold water.. embrace it. It takes a special diver to love the cold water.
or as DG has clearly stated... Someone who has been dropped on their heads when they were little.
I know for a fact I was dropped more than once.

i got my AOW in Roatan and my Nitrox in Utila. With PADI, and i dont think the level of training was any thing lower than what i would have gotten here in the states, it was very good and professional and educating. I think the Padi set up is really done well.

Well you were dropped twice - once on each side to try and poke the horns back in... :P

Well, I can't imagine ever giving up cold water diving completely... after all, I am a kelp forest ecologist and kelp doesn't like warm water. However, I could definitely see spending much more time in the tropics, say sailing around the Caribbean with a nice compressor, and friend, aboard. Of course during the summer hurricane seasonb I'd have to seek shelter elsewhere...

I got certified in Cuba --- alright, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, is a US base and you have all those handsome Naval men around so it didn't seem like another country. :D

I think I have more dives in other countries than in the US. Now that I have lost my passport (twice) :banghead: :-D , I think I'll stick closer to home for a while.

ok I will list mine here by course and location and instuctor

OW, Calypso diving, Boracay Phillipines, instructor was Hitomi

AOW, Calypso diving, Boracay Phillipines, instructor was Hitomi

NITROX, Calypso diving, Boracay Phillipines, instructor again Hitomi

Absolutly yes on taking courses overseas again easpecially from Hitomi

Hitomi is Japanese and very serious about her diving she was an awesome instructor. Her english though she felt was not good, was very understandable and even some Americans can have problems saying oxygen toxicity. I am sure I couldnt say it in Japanese

Calypso diving has three instructors:
Lee who is from England
Hitomi who is from Japan
Christian who is from Switzerland
and their DM Borek who is filipino who they also want to go to instructor school, They are very professional and know what their doing.

We get many people learning or doing con-ed here in Belize. When I'm asked I always recommend people get involved with a dive club back home, and the best way to do that is often to do a qualification with them. I was brought up on weekend diving, and it gives a completely different mindset to only diving on holiday.
