Oversized furry insatiable carnivores start munching on inhabitants of an island. My favorite scene was when they started chewing through a wall. This movie is from my childhood so it is old LOL

Journalists are aboad a nuclear sub testing a new homing torpedo. When the torpedo hits the target they think they see a humanoid form in the explosion....
Did I mention there is an island nearby with a nuclear waste dump?

CREATURE FEATURE 21
When a couple goes scuba diving and turn up missing at a Caribbean resort, a local policeman goes searching for them and finds their boat tied to the marker buoy above a wreck recently opened to the public. However, his ex-wife, a scuba instructor at the resort, finds that the wreck is a hiding place for species of mutant killer fish. Her pleas to the resort owner to shut down water activities are ignored resulting in a total bloodbath when the fish munch on the resort's guests

Will start digging into these clues. And sickly Mitch, the movie you describe sounds great!!! Once i know what it is, I'm going to rent it for my next open water class!!!

Thieves try to recover treasure from a Brazilian lake. There's a fashion show at the resort and worse of all - the lake is full of PIRANHA!!!
