Howdy!

Yeah, this is great news. Guess I'd better book a block of rooms at my favorite casa, in case anyone wants one. I'll get back here with rates...

Coppermouse - I need an idea of how many are coming from there, so I can give Joseph's a ballpark total.

Okay, I like the Best Western "Adobe Inn" - the BW near Joseph's, etc - not the BW next to Denny's.

If anyone wants to stay at this one, the Best Rate is $48.95 + 11.31% tax Single, $57.50 Double, with in room coffee maker, contenental breakfast, etc. Call 1+800528-1234, or go thru the net. Local phone is 505-472-3446.

If you cannot get this rate, let me know. I have 3 rooms - for Saturday night, 24th - on hold for now...

Just spoke with Stella. She says the gate to Perch is open. Some of the Air Academy kiddos went out there last weekend in their 3 mils and froze. I'll bet! I'm taking my 7 mil and beanie!

It snow here this morning, but hopefully the jet stream will get back to normal and stay there - giving us nicer weather. That's the short term forecast for now, too.

Stella said the bridge is still torn up; if we want in the front lot, we need to take the back road, about a mile further south.

Spoke with Stella yesterday actually; messed up on the posting, and - my thanks to Zendiver for erasing the erroneous one...

Tonight, I got ahold of Debbie - the bar manager at Joseph's, to confirm that we will indeed eating & dancing there, so she'll be sure to have it open and staffed. BTW, minors are allowed to eat in the bar until 9pm, according to New Mexico law.

Majors can party on after 9pm... :teeth:

Somebody from Texas better jump in a ride and grab WW! All Texans welcome in New Mexico!!! Actually everyone is welcome in New Mexico!

I have never dove Perch Lake I would like to though. Don, what is it like?

I will be bringing my Mom with me. My Father passed on in January and
Momma-san is coming to visit for a few weeks and hang with my son while I'm in Coz. I figure she needs to come and party with a bunch of crazed divers. Figure it will be good for her soul. :respect:

Okay, just spoke with Jer, and it looks like we'll be arriving on Friday evening - the 23rd, and staying for 2 nights. More opportunities to get into trouble...

Not sure which vehicle we'll be in, so watch for the Lone Star Ensign flying from one. The parking lot easiest to get to will be the most crowded, I'm sure, and with all of the Vacation Dive Trainees - it really will be, but I'm going to try to park near this guy Saturday...

Look for the big Charcole Grey Dodge 4x4 quad cab with the shark mural on the back window.

If I'm at the hole, I will have a big cannopy up behind the truck.  If it's cold, drop by and hang out by the 200000 BTU heater I will have cranked up.  I may even have some Coffee brewed.  Ok, so I like to to have the cushy life.

Depends on what time we get out of the water Saturday, I would love to go dive the lake with you guys.  We won't actually log any bottom time doing the Rescue stuff on Sat, so we can do some afterwords.

I come in from the baseball fields and park on the grassy area next to the creek.  I have a carpet down, so I don't get too much dead grass on my stuff.

Greg

Perch lake is just a large, spring fed pond - with an airplane. Not as deep as The Hole, maybe 50-60 feet, but much more room for navigating. Fish to play with, and should be good viz this time of year. Something different, besides - I bet The Hole will be busy!

I'd like to start diving early Saturday, then head out to the lake after lunch, and leave time for a nap before the party. Us old farts - who remember a time when we had only 3 flavors of ice cream - need our rest. :teeth:

Okay, Jer & I are going up Friday night, and we'll hit the Hole starting at 8am for 2 or 3 dives. If the weather is as nice as it has been latrely, we'll take the back road round around the construction and park on the lot right in front of the Hole. Bring a thermos of DeCaf or Hot Chocolate for after diving. Look for a white, extended cab Chevy pickup with a Texas Flag and an Alpha flag:

http://www.lsjunction.com/flag.htm

http://www.boat-ed.c...erequipment.htm

If it's cold, we may take the first entrance and park near Gregs heater, but it looks promising.

If you're arriving Sautrday morning, please try to meet up with us by 11am there, and rent some filled tanks & weights from Stella for the after lunch Perch Lake diving.

We'll plan on lunch at the diner on the corner across from Town Lake - about 12, not later than 12:30pm. Refill your thermos at the convenience store up the street, then - we'll head out to Perch for a diver or two. If you rent 2 tanks, but only do 1 dive, turn them back into Stella, and she'll owe you a fill in the morning. I want to be in bed, napping off the nitrogen load by mid-afternoon or so, as I wouldn't want to be the first grownup to leave the party.

Dinner is a 7pm in the back part of Josephs, order your own, followed by dancing. And remember The Code: "Whatever happens on a Dive Trip stays there." Yeah, right - we'll never tell. :P

More fun dives Sunday morning, but don't forget to rehydrate well. And, bring a golf ball for the idol...
