2016 is soooo far ahead but I agree that IF things settle down a bit the Red Sea is on my list of places to visit.

Also curious about a very little dived area until recently. Bikini Atoll (MV Windward liveaboard)

Looking up that Bikini Atoll trip on the MV Windward looks really interesting. Looks like a serious tech trip. But it looks like they have solved the airline issue by making it a two week trip out of an island that does have daily air service.

George when you say serious tech trip 'splain me! Is it something SD can do or just a small subset of SD?

By coincidence I was chatting with someone at a LDS, and what he called it was "tech friendly", they have doubles, pony, stage bottles, O2, nitrox mixes etc. available, but you are free to go with a standard rec setup with air, in fact most do he said. The profiles are very diverse with a single dive site able to stay within NDL rec divingfor part of the group and go beyond to tech depths and penetrations.

I think they have both land based and liveaboard option btw

Kamala, this is what I could find. I know you posted other comments regarding the GBR. Just can't seem to track them down...

GREAT BARRIER REEF:

Most remaining boats that are not backpacking camping at sea options hold 24-36 pax. That is a lot of divers and usually more than most people want to be on one boat with. When we went we used a boat that only held 16 pax and it was great. Sadly they sold the boat and all remaining options require a lot of people to be on them. However if we had 24 people interested I would consider it. I can always book you and few peeps to the Great Barrier reef privately... just let us know.

Meaning you need to be tech certified..

1.A Qualification rated to 50mts depth issued by a recognised dive training agency
2.Advanced nitrox qualification to use mixes up to 100% oxygen issued by a recognised dive training agency

So that would be a small subset, IMHO..
