Hey Kamala -

Well, my hopes of joining you guys in Athens were dashed yesterday.... when I fell and broke my ankle and multiple bones in my foot. I'm now sporting a cheery purple cast from toe to knee, can't feel my toes, and am hobbling around on crutches. On the positive side, I have enough pain killers here to sleep for a month! Don't think the fins or wetsuit will fit over the cast, and can't imagine what it would smell like if I'm out there sweating for a couple of days and still have to tote this thing around for additional weeks! Ugh.

Will catch ya'll on the next go round - or maybe later in the year.

SR-praying for a fast recovery for you. We will miss you at Athen's, but you know we will be thinking of you and your pretty purple cast.

you know.....if you're friends with the cast tech, he can probably slap a modified fin on that cast and plaster it in.....hell, you kick from the hip, not the ankle, right?!
and you can ALWAYS get a new cast put on after athens!!!

i broke my ankle STANDING on a dive boat in coz. went to work when i got back, was on crutches for a week ( THAT was a sight...hobbling on crutches while pushing the patient's bed with my CHEST!) then figured SCREW THIS! so i just walked on the cast. every week for 5 weeks i went and had a new one put one. that cast tech HATED me!!!!
oh...i was only casted for 5 weeks instead of 6 because we were going to fiji that 6th week....

hope all heals well and you're back in the water soon!!

Bummer.....and DOUBLE BUMMER!!! You were just TOOOOOOO much fun at the Houston Happy Hour before our trip! But we'll see you in Sept...even if we have to have you picked up and carried to us!!! LOL!!! -ww

P.S. I'll send you some info on how to help heal faster...afterall you have a dive trip coming up this fall you have to be ready for!

We'll be there by 1pm on Friday.....just the right amount of time for you to drive in the am and see us there!

Great to see some new faces....hey don't forget to recruit a friend...they can be divers or non-divers who want to learn more about diving! We can even have folks there who will help to teach more about diving both recreational as well as more technical...just about anything you want to learn about the sport!
