If you are a DIR diver (at least DIR-F) please check in.

(please note: I am not asking anyone's opinion of DIR, I am not asking anyone to discuss DIR, nor am I entertaining people who do or don't want to know what DIR is.)

*Note: Edited to add the 'Women' in Black too! -ww

Perrone it is the nature of this site to be fun, loose and a bit freewheeling. If you keep tabs like you are doing you'll soon see how many are DIR or not.

If the comments get too far off base I PROMISE to split them out...we could start a "I'm NOT a DIR diver? Who else is a 'stroke'? thread if more people keep posting they are not DIR.

And for the record...

I have now taken several technical workshops, and courses and many of the components are based upon DIR principals. While I have not taken DIR-F, I do intend too as my time permits.

I think ALL forms of training are good and I think that DIR offers some great philosphies and skills to divers. Except for the 'all or nothing' part, I've adopted many aspects of the training already.

Is that anything like Winonna Ryder proclaiming to be a "non-practicing virgin".....?

I'm about 95% DIR. I've taken fundies, and when it comes to technical diving - I follow about all of it - except I still use a computer (w tables & BT) vs tables & my buddies BT for backup.

When it comes to recreational - I find myself doing some solo, computer based plans and rarely creaping PO2's a tad beyond 1.4, never beyond 1.6 always well within CNS limits.

:-D Actually I think Winonna has proclaimed a number of things... :lmao:

But perhaps the real question is are you considered a DIR diver if you follow 50% of the teachings and philosphies? How about 75% or even 95% What makes you a DIR diver? Merely saying you are or following all the teachings by the book?

p.s. Perrone if you like I'll split this off into another thread. However to answer your original question I think it is important to know when someone is a DIR diver?

The first line of my first post is:

If you are a DIR diver (at least DIR-F) please check in.

Thus, if you have passed fundies, I am asking you to check in.

Thank you for the clarification. Your post did not state that you had to have passed DIR or fundies to be considered a DIR diver. Now that you've clarified it, I'm sure you'll get more of the list of divers you are looking for.
