First off a HID is considered gear...remember I said you had good stuff so I wanted in on it??? Think light = gear here!!!

Secondly I only would have attemped to pay proper homage to the memory of your valent life lost by prizing your gear in that special way only a diver can do...you know and not ebay it cuz it must be worth something but not to the non-diver who has no clue. And third...of course we'd bury you first and grieve over you for ever and ever...or at least as long as it took to settle your diving estate!

Besides...doesn't allowing you on the trip of your dreams that started all of this count for something???

Ahhhhhhhh – the “do I look disgusted” story!!
1st let me say this is why many of us continue to take SD trips – the diving is great – but the laughter and friendship you take away from these trips cannot be matched!!!

1st off – let me give you my take on Big O – We met Dave for the 1st time on the Fiji trip with SD – which was a 2 week trip – nice, quiet young man – GREAT with a camera – didn’t have much to say really – Dave signed up with all of us for the T&C trip – which was a live a board – Fiji was October 05 and T&C was April 06 – Dave was a new man on this trip – talkative (for Dave) and extremely funny.

Some of our dives on the trip were for lack of a better word a CLUSTER – (granted that is MY word – no one else’s) The current was a little bit more than we expected – and kept being told “normally there’s no current” – every dive I was dropped in to – THERE WAS CURRENT. Which is fine if you are prepared…………the one particular night dive I so well remember – was a cluster to get in the water – I wasn’t doing the dive so I was observing……….(remember cluster is my word). Every one doing the dive was in the water and I went back in to the salon to watch TV and wait to hear the stories after every one came up – I can remember this as if it was yesterday – the door to the salon flies open and we look up and see Big O standing there soaking wet – and he says “Sandy – DO I LOOK DISGUSTED” ………….It was the funniest thing – the entire salon busted out laughing – He had had enough……………..Perhaps you had to be there to find the extreme humor in it I do – but my goodness what a memory for Dan and I!!!

I must encourage those of you who are on the fence about a SD trip – you must try one – there are going to be issues no matter who you choose to travel with – whether it’s your own dive shop – some place off the internet – some place you saw at a dive show – Dan and I have made such good friends from our trips – and met each other on our 1st SD trip – so maybe I am partial - and we will be married in July . I have made such good friends that I still keep in touch with from all over the country – and out of the country too. I consider some as family - it’s hard just to take one trip – try it and you’ll know what I mean.

It’s a year after T&C and Dave’s “do I look disgusted” gets used often when things aren’t going my way. Right along with………………
