A suggestion, that may be more affordable and easier on travel is start in Hawaii, the Kosrae, Chuuk, yap, Palau, Guam, Saipam. Continental used to have a ticket on Continental Micronesia 30 days unlimited travel.

I love the idea of a multi countries trip. Thailand sounds great to me.

Well one trip I'm actually looking into is a multi country trip. I'd like to do a liveaboard(10 or 12 days) in the Solomon Islands then over to Oz(Australia). Either dive in Oz or head up to PNG. In PNG I was thinking of either 7 or 10 days at Tawali Resort in Milne Bay and then up to Kimbe Bay in New Britian, PNG and spend a week to 10 days on either Febrina or Star Dancer. After that if you haven't already done any diving in Oz you could do it then or return home. It would also be real easy to add Fiji before the Solomons if people were interested.

This is a very exciting multi-country trip! :)

Tawali is great, went a couple of years ago...great muck diving too! curious about the northern PNG spots...

there are a few here who can speak to the cost benefit of asia, etc...i recall Tom (on australia trip) talking about how cheap the Phillipines was to go and dive there compared....

Hi George!! Happy New Year...

Cuba looks interesting, although the thought of sleeping in even smaller accomodations scares me! :cheerleader:

I would be very interested in a 3-4 week multi stop solution, not all of it needs to be water based.

It's the main reason I haven't dove in Asia yet, don't want to fly 2 1/2 days back and forth for a just a week vacation.
So, if my computer is flashing 212 .. 212 .. 212 does that mean I can't go any deeper?

Thank you all for your input! SD is going to do something different in 2008 for 2009 and that is we are going to start planning 2009 as soon as we finish posting all our trips for 2008. Yep...we will be working on 2009 starting in February at the latest. So be watching for new threads to ascertain more specific options which I will glean from this thread. And if you haven't noticed yet...we are trying to help get our trips more organized so you will find an ongoing summary here:

http://www.singlediv...a...;f=173&id=8

And you will also see it PINNED as an ANNOUNCEMENT in almost every forum! I will work very hard to keep it updated and current.

Thanks for the great suggestion! -ww

Unfortunately while they still have a website, the company is no longer operating this trip :diver: Not sure if there are any other options for this type of trip or not.

I understand that Cuba has pretty reefs but no fish. Not sure if this is true or not.

Cuba has pretty reafs and lots of fish including bullsharks feeding...not a good idea. The problem in Cuba is safety One of my collegues died last nov of air poisonning from her tank and some other people told me about tthe dive masters abandonning there groups...My own experience ...13 years ago was OK except for the boat that was in very bad shape...Liz
