madsmiley.

Im not sure if there are any shops in ponce or any real good diving as all the diving i did in PR this summer was between Parguera (SW tip) through Aquadilla.

if you need the name of some shops i can pass them along to you.

the airport on the west end is in Aquadilla PR and has the airport call letters BQN (for Bourinqin) the USCG has a base there as the whole area is a former SAC Airforce base and has the longest runway in the carribean.

as for shops near by the airport i would recommend
Puerto Rico Technical Diving Center - Owners Tony and Brenda Cerezo
Aquatica - Owners Jose and Karen Rafos

Tell them DanDan sent you to them.

going down the west coast in Rincon I Recommend Taino Divers, and then in Parguera both West divers and Parguera Divers are good ops (West is run by Pilar, and Parguera is run by Angel pronounced Anhill)

anything else you need? If your in the dallas area attend a HH and I will give you all then info you want

I wish I would have seen this earler. I worked this winter and spring on the islands around PR. Culebra is spetacular above and below the water. Vieques, not as great but realy good boat diving. I may go back soon and run Culebra divers while the owners go on vacation.
In Culebra, contact Culebra Divers and in Vieques, Black Beard Sports.

This trip is sizing up nicely and VERY reasonable too...we should be able to offer it for either 5 days or 7 days and do boat diving, unlimited shore diving as well as some siteseeing...all for UNDER $1000 plus your airfare!

Waiting on dates from the ops! :cool1:

I :-D dived La Paguara this past March. The best Vis this whole dive year. Nice walls. Next time I want to get to Deheshoe Island. Needless to say put me on a interested list.

Any general idea of timeframe yet, for planning purposes?

Is it possible to split the days between Rincon & La Paguara?

We are looking at that option as well. It is best to stay in one hotel only...people do not like moving but diving all over is the way to go!

Kamala will be back in town in a day or two and can answer the question but it may be in late spring.

Which airport are you looking at that has cheap airfare?

Airfare is cheap!

Check out www.jetblue.com

JetBlue has a four day sale (today is the second day) for many flights January thru mid-February (return by Feb 14th). The other airlines are matching on JetBlue's routes. I'm guessing this is not useful for when Kamala was planning a SD group trip to PR.

I havent seen the final trip iten but your best bet is going to be looking at BQN as if you chose the other airports your going to have a drive of 1-3 hours to where we might be (I have a good idea of where were going to be but will let the wench finalize the annoucement).

My plan is to go on this trip but we will see what comes down the pipe as i have just started a new job and dont have much vacation time yet, so it may be last minute that i hitch on to this trip.

Mike good airfares its just that using B6 website i cant get to BQN from austin, i have to make it two seperate tickets :cheerleader: but if i call in i can probably get it as one, then i will only need to do a short hop to austin from DFW.
