I have an Aerobed Dee-Luxe, a spare bed, and a couch, but I'd have to clean up this pigsty. Maybe it'd be a good excuse. I live in Far East Dallas, about 30-45 minutes from Las Colinas.

I wouldn't even make anybody bring a sixpack of rent if they'd give me a quick drysuit class at Terrell...

I hope you'll be in town that day!

I admit I'm absolutely curious about your screen name.....would you go to this thread HERE where we're all telling how our screen name came about, and if it's not too personal, clue us in on yours?

Hey Dallas Happy Hour!

Our first 3 Operation Care & Share packages arrived in Afghanistan, and see below for the response we got from BeachJunkie and his Company. Just a small amount on your part can make a big difference to our troops (and fellow SD members) who are deployed. Please consider bringing whatever you can to the Dallas Happy Hour on 2/28, to be included in our next set of care packages. Just purchase while you're out doing personal shopping, and leave it in your car until HH nite. Jerky, hard candy, and entertainment items go over big! Cash for postage will also be accepted. Kamala, I will need more of the little SD stickers (I put on the outside of the box for all to see, and Sam found a way to recycle them for more mileage - ha ha!)

GOT THE FIRST SET OF PACKAGES TODAY!!

Thanks everyone! I dispersed them throughout the company. One per platoon. (got a total of 3 boxes) Saw a lot of guys in the common area reading and leafing through some of the Scuba mags. I have about a half dozen sitting on the little center table next to the TV and people pick them up and leaf through them. hopefully it'll spark some interest. The jerkey disappeared in about 30 seconds and was half eaten with big smiles and the rest got stuffed into assault packs for the next mission where it will likely dissappear just as quickly and happily. There was a nice large amount of baby whipes haha. We'll put them to good use! The quetips will be awesome for cleaning weapons. Its been a bit on the rainy side lately but they're good for putting on nice light coats of oil so that the weapons don't rust up on us. I'll try and get some pictures of the guys with the stuff (whats left of it haha)

WW. I took the sticker off one of the boxes and fashioned it into a bumper sticker using 100 mph tape. I'll get a picture of it for you when I slap it on my truck. A little international advertising care of the US Army. Winning hearts and minds and scuba buddies!!

Thanks again everyone! All the guys send their thanks with extra minty fresh breath from all the lifesavers mints! I think the only complaints were "were's all the porn and dip dude?!?!" They were kidding of course.... sort of haha.

Add me to the list [unless WreckWench can find me a last minute deal between 2/20 and 3/8]

As far as Clear Springs, it's anything but, viz 5-8 ft

Feb. 24, 2008 I did my Rescue Open Water at Clear Springs in a 5mm w/ 5mm hooded vest.
I almost had to be rescued, after g-stride, had to remind myself the reg was in my mouth -
JUST BREATHE

Temp - 54 degrees

Hey Bill! I'll get you on the list. It will be good to see you again!

And may I say......BRRRRR! 54 degree water in 5mm? I could maybe tolerate it in 7mm farmer john with a 7mm jacket on top of that. Congrats on completing the Rescue class!

I think Terrel might be a good place to meet for the SDers coming from out of town. I was thinking of getting in the DFW area around 12pm to 3pm. I'll wil only bring my dive gear if there is a Giant Stride Contest :cheerleader: Hambergler I might take you up on that offer for that place to crash Buddy.
Scuba Tex it would be nice to see you again and Kheper Rn Ra come on down :cool1:

Mark,
I think BB lake would be about the same temp as Clear Springs at the surface, but go down a few thermal-clines and its ?. I was just thinking of meeting or staging at Clear Springs for some of the out of towners or locals..kinda like a pre-HH.

Sherr752

The Cadillac Ranch has an opening on the 28th of February at 6:00. Let me know if this location is ok with everyone.

Is the Cadillac Ranch a for sure for the HH.

LLDN,
I will be bringing some stuff from your previous list to help support our Troops, I also have some USPS flat-rate Mil-Pack boxs for shipping the items.

I'll double check with Sherrie about our reservation for Cadillac Ranch, and one of us will post confirmation.

Thanks, Bubski, for bringing items for the Care & Share packages! I'm sure the SD members we send to will really appreciate it.

I just wanted to confirm that we have a reservation for 2/28 at the Cadillac Ranch at 6:00 p.m. I don't think there is a limit on how long we can keep the tables so don't worry about coming in late if you need to. Let me know if the above plan is ok with everyone. The address is: 857 W John Carpenter Freeway.

P.S. Tammy. I have plenty of room at my house if you need a place to stay.

Sherrie
