I have an update on this trip. Let me know if you are interested. Dates being looked at are after the 20th of November and before the 15th of December.

Puerto Galera 7 nights
Dumaguete 5 nights

Price for this trip is US$2,758 per person plus airfare...I am working on a pkg for that as well. But wanted to let you know the price of the diving in two world class resorts!

I am sooooo looking forward to my planned trip to the PI next year. I have "met" so many wonderful Filipinos (and especially Filipinas) on the various boards I frequent (lurk on?). Maybe I'll time it so I can connect with an SD trip as I do hope to spend 4-6 weeks there diving various locations to gather footage for future projects.

Is Thanksgiving week an option (November 25th?) Or would it most likely be one of the two weeks after that?

Looks like airfare at this point is running about $1,000 RT..

Kamala I would be interested... I'm not a fan of Thanksgiving week for the trip, but let me know. I am a bit of a traditionalist and really like being with my family Thanksgiving... but if its another week... or maybe earlier like we did Fiji, last week of October first week of November that would be awesome.

What are the water temps there that time of year. I'm looking for a big trip to take... maybe this is it... I'd do FIJI again, but been there done that, got the tshirt... this sounds like a good alternative. Also sets me up for a Chuuck (spelling) Palau and Yap in 2011...

PLUS!!! If Bruce is going maybe he'll teach me how to use the new housing I'm going to buy for my XTi....

I would be interested in this also. I've heard lots of good thing about the diving in the Philippines. And since I get two days off for Thanksgiving I would definitely be interested in that week. Looking forward to additional information on this trip.

Yes, currently the Thanksgiving time frame is available, and the dates would work out as follows in order to minimize airfare, take advantage of the holiday(s) as well as work with the dates available at the resort.

Puerto Galera - November 27-December 04, 2010 (7 nights - Saturday to Saturday)
Atlantis Dumaguete - December 04-09, 2010 (5 nights - Saturday to Thursday)

Just something to be aware of..... airfares to/from PI are often Up quite a bit from the Thanksgiving time through January, as it it High season for people to return "home" for the holidays.....

I recieved an offer for these two Atlantis Resorts today through Sport Diver Magazine. They have a price of $2724 for Dumaguete or $2549 for Puerto Galera for one week AI including diving and airfare from Los Angeles.

I have not pulled the trigger on this yet. I have a few nibbles but no real bites yet. Hopefully people will give us some input one way or the other!

Of course I can just book you either way and save you some money if you opt for Cocos or PI. kamala
