I loved them both but PG had more night life and Dumaguete was quieter. Apo Island was my favorite which is off Dumaguete but I loved being able to see both parts of the country...taste them both!

Both depend upon the time of year.

Not necessarily in the PI..... can get as low as 75 degrees. I always wear a 5mm full wetsuit, regardless of time of year. In November to Feb temps are 75-80, and in September the water was 82-83.

I am a new member (as in registered last night). I found singledivers.com because I was looking for a group going to the Western Pacific, preferably Phillipines. Sounds like this is the answers to my prayers!!

I am all over this trip if it makes and if it doesn't get priced out of reach. I hope to meet some of you at the Texas Dive Show in February. In the meantime, I will be watching the board for more info.

Hey Ijuanadive...repeating this post in case you did not see it. This is what we are looking at if they still have availability for next Thanksgiving timeframe. If not I'll be seriously looking at Fiji...too many islands to not consider doing it again! kamala

I would definitely be in interested in diving the Philippines, but would like it to be more than just a seven or ten day trip and possibly also include a liveaboard. Too far to go not to do special extras.

Hey gang...I am exploring another avenue to make this trip a reality. It would be early to mid Nov and would entail some renown wreckdiving.

I would have loved to dive at Atlantis but the price is just too steep for this economy and the fact that we have already offered one extremely high end trip in May/June and will be offering another one in April/May of next year.

However I hope to have this fleshed out in the next few days! kamala

Wenchy one -

One thing to check out is the SV Phillippean Siren - an ultra cushy sailing boat with 8 luxury cabins, nitrox compressor, individual AC in each cabin, etc. Google them - an LDS took a trip last fall right after it was launched. The pics and stories were outstanding, so much so they have already sold out the November 2010 trip!

Positives : great facilities and moves each evening.
Negatives: limited to eight cabins, maximum 16 people.

Just a thought to check out.
