I miss the snow and nice crisp frosty mornings! Still - it is cooling down in the Middle East - I have to wear a cardigan at night now - it is dipping below 20C :-D

I really hate winter here in Belize. I nearly had to put on a heavier weight teeshirt a few days ago.

Good one!

Living in Houston, I know our winters are also quite mild compared to so many other places. I am such a wuss when it is cold outside and I have to wear a jacket. I feel achy, my skin gets dry and uncomfortable. I don't own a parka, but I do have a full length wool jacket that I've worn a few times. I'll take 100 degree temps over a cold day anytime.

.........I actually do struggle a little bit with depression in the winter, I think.

..........Tammie

Like Tammy aka SeaSeeker said...I hate the lower amounts of sunshine and the shorter days. ;)

I know I suffer greatly from this. When it gets serious, it has a name actually. Seasonal Affective Disorder. I don't think I have that but I do get the "blahs" and cannot wait to get longer days again. I do travel a lot in the winter to get my sun fix.

Soon I will be the "snowbird" guy. Summers in the Colorado Rockies and winters in a nice desert locale with warmer temps. Come on retirement portfolio!!!!!

I hereby grant all of the snow that I'm supposed to receive to the mountains, where it will be appreciated by skiers during the winter and trout, who will appreciate the cold water drained into their streams during the spring. Fair enough?

The only thing I don't like about winter is our winds that we get with the weather. It's supposed to be high 50's in Denver today and in the high 60's for Thanksgiving. We already have a good snowpack for this time of year and the skiing is pretty good. Had hand surgery so I am out of skiing for the rest of the year so I think I will go to Mexico!!!! Even if it' s cold, snowy, rainy or sunny, if you are on the right side of the dirt, life is good. Hope you all have a fantastic Thanksgiving.:dancing:

I like real winter, especially if I'm near snow and can ski - or even if I can't, it's lovely to look at and be in. I like spring, with the new life all around and spring flowers - the air has a certain quality at that time of the year that it has at no other. High summer can be lovely, particularly in northern climes with l.o.n.g days, so long as there's not too much I have to do. Autumn can be beautiful with the changing colours on the trees, and later with the carpets of fallen leaves - perfect for long rambles through the beech woods near home, ended with hot tea and crumpets in front of a blazing fire. I even like late winter/early spring as spring is just around the corner to look forward to. The season I like least in England is late autumn/early winter, when work or school is intense and the climate is miserably chilling and damp, often with fog for days on end. At that time green mildew grows everywhere, on stone, on brick, on wood, even on your car. And even though Christmas isn't too far ahead, the time seems to go by interminably slowly. Late winter can also be like that, but somehow it doesn't seem so depressing. Perhaps it's because the days are lengthening rather than shortening, I don't know. But here in Belize I miss being miserable because the days are shortening, because here there's less than 2 hours difference between summer and winter.
