It's time to start thinking some more about the Colorado Dive Show...

It will be Friday September 24th from 5pm to 830pm and Saturday September 25th from 9am to 5pm.

We've had some GREAT SDers offering to help and would love to see more people there. If you can help or if you've offered to help, please let us know the hours you can help and your t-shirt size by posting in this thread.

THANKS EVERYBODY!!!

I'm available all day Saturday, but if I had to put down a time, I would prefer AM to PM.

XXL..but I have plenty of SD shirts...Unless there is a new one that will be the standard uniform.

I can help on Friday night and most likely Saturday afternoon.

I'm going to head out to check out possible places for a Happy Hour and will post that later.

Also, where is the information on Operation Care and Share? Not sure what you are looking for or where it goes.

Also, where is the information on Operation Care and Share? Not sure what you are looking for or where it goes.

We'll be sending the Operation Care and Share items to to our contacts in Iraq and Afghanistan for distribution to the peeps that can use 'em.

Here's some information about what we're looking for including some dos and don'ts:

DO'S:
Books
magazines (dive, sports, fitness, Guns & Ammo, Field & Stream, Car & Driver, Road & Track, etc...)
DVDs
gum & hard candies (Jolly Ranchers go over well with the troops and the local children as well!)
Jelly Belly jelly beans
games
music CDs
replacement batteries (usually AAs) for personal CD players
chapstick
prepaid phone cards (these need to be specifically for calling to the U.S. from int'l locations.)
Q-Tips (good for cleaning ears, weapons, CD players, etc)
unscented baby wipes (a godsend for long patrols, and during/after a sandstorm)
gallon-size ziploc bags (good for keeping sand outta stuff....)
single-use gun cleaning wipes (Hoppe's is an excellent choice)
eye drops (saline, Visine, etc if you can find them, boxes of the little single-use vials are the best!)
portable nonperishable snacks such as
• dried apples
• dried cranberries SOME
• dried apricots SOME
• trail mix
• Jerky LOTS OF THIS!!!
• dry roasted nuts
• banana chips
• granola bars

Assorted teas
Ground coffee (please buy the troops freshly ground coffee, preferrably a dark roast)
drink mix powder in single-serving packaging (makes that bottled water tastier)
canisters of Gatorade powder
Emergen-C (click here to see what this stuff is, which can be purchased at any drug store or larger grocery store, as well as at Sam's Club or online at the link provided)
Oreos, Nilla Wafers, Chips Ahoy, Ginger Snaps, and other prepackaged cookies
GIRL SCOUT COOKIES!!! The more, the merrier!
HOME MADE COOKIES & BROWNIES!!
Pretzels and other snacks that are sturdy enough to ship well
TABASCO SAUCE in multiple small bottles so that they can be packed in a ruck for patrols
personal care and toiletry products (hair clips, brushes, ponytail elastics etc for female troops)
Toothbrushes
Small tubes of toothpaste
fitness supplements (protein, Hydroxycut, Super B Complex, etc)
New SOCCER BALLS (deflated, so that we can ship them in bigger quantities - they go over extremely well with the troops & the local kids!)
Frisbees
Decks of cards

DON'TS:
Chocolate or other meltable candies (they just become a mess before the box even arrives)
volatile liquids (flammables or aerosols)
perishable foods (nothing like receiving a box of slimey moldy science projects...)
no religious materials (according to the USPS)
NO PORN
To quote BeachJunkie: "For gawd's sake, no Irish Spring soap!"

Hi everyone

My daughter and I have booked flights from Calgary to Denver for the dive show.
We don't arrive until about 9 Friday evening so please advise us of the location of
happy hour so we can join you as soon as we arrive.

As for volunteering, we are staying at the hotel so we can fill in if needed on Sat.
We may attend an uw photo seminar otherwise we are available.

T-shirt sizes S and L

And my daughter has convinced me to go to the football game on Sunday.
Anyone else interested?

BTW, on the OP Care and Share, Sunday's newspaper had coupons for free coffee.

The Broncos play Indianapolis that Sunday. I just checked with my ticket sources, they aren't giving up those unfortunately, thought I would try. I'll be at Lodos in downtown Denver that Sunday. Not sure if they still run a free bus over to the Stadium or not. I'll ask. It would at least save you parking as downtown parking is free on Sundays but stadium parking can be expensive.

Hey gang, I just spoke with the promoter of this show and I will be attending it as well! We will be playing during the show and I'm certain attending the HH as well!

As another side benefit Wenchie, anyone who does not have a ticket can see me before the show and I will have free passes for anybody who says that "Pup Morse, the Scuba Cowboy" sent them to the show. That's right, not half off, but free, so make sure everyone takes advantage. I can't wait to see you all soon!

That's awesome. Last night, my heidi asked me when you were playing again and I told her I would get with you to see if you were able to get in touch with those running the dive show. Need to call you. She wants to do dinner sometime

Hi Ruck!
Yeah, I know things have been a little crazy here lately and I've been out of town or out of country quite a bit, but we'll eventually get back out and start playing locally again, I promise. I'm in the middle of recording two new albums, one of which is due out at DEMA in November, then I'm off traveling again immediately after that, so this year will be a whirlwind! Give me a call when you get a chance my friend. This week is especially challenging because of the family situation Shawna is dealing with, but we should be back to normal somewhat next week. Thanks bud!

Hi gang!

As a special way to say thanks to all of my loyal fans and fellow SD divers, I've set up a deal with the promoter to get all of my friends into this Colorado Dive Show absolutely FREE! To get your FREE tickets it is real easy, just send an e-mail to my special address at Pup@ColoradoDiveShow.com, that's it! You will get an automatic e-mail response and you just need to print that e-mail out and take it with you for FREE admission to the show. I know lots of dive shops are offering half price tickets, but this will get you into the show absolutely FREE, so don't wait, shoot out your e-mail now and get your tickets!

I can't wait to see you all at the show!
