Unfortunately that seems to be the norm lately. You can check San Pedro Sula and take the ferry over, but I much prefer to fly directly into Roatan from the US.

I'll be down in the West End tomorrow, if anyone has any questions, please let me know. Looks to be air temps with highs in the upper 80s, lows around 80 with water temps averaging 84.

Hi kamala,
I started looking into flights to roatan. The flights to miami or houston are about the same. only about $300.
The flights from miami to rtb is $775!!!! 1 stop
the flight from houston to rtb is $733 non stop

The price for the actual trip is great, but the airline flights are outrageous! Any charters from houston to rtb? (really bummed out)

Got the following from email and wanted to answer for everyone.

1. There are no contract rates...not enough volume of people flying there
2. AIRFARE has been the biggest ticket item now for the past couple of years. It approaches and can exceed the price of the package. Once airlines cut out excess supply the rates have remained constant for them and consistently HIGH for us.
3. The days of cheap air are gone...air will range from $600-$1200 to go almost anywhere in the Caribbean.

Hello from the west end of Roatan, where I have had two days of awesome diving. What I found out about Henry Morgan is that they have a local dive master named Lindy who has been there for a very long time, is very experienced in the local reefs and should show you guys a good time. (this was from a competing dive shop).

The best part from what I have seen this year, is that the two years of lionfish erradication is working. We have been killing no more than 1-2 lionfish a dive, and groupers are eating the lionfish right off the spear. (on some dive sites the groupers actually follow us around looking for the free lunch).

But the juveniles are back in droves. Especially the juvenile pufferfish, but plenty of the others. I am sure the lionfish are plentiful below rec limits (we saw them last year in droves at around 140 feet).

If anyone has any questions, I am here till Saturday. Diving Mary's place tomorrow, and hopefully Morat Wall on Thursday.
