Don't know what your connections are like out of Alaska but you might want to look at WESTJET. They fly return Calgary-Cancun direct Mon, Wed, Fri for cheap. My connections from Regina through Calgary return are $700 taxes included. Look at Edmonton and Vancouver as well.

Looking at doing this Cozumel week and watching for a seat sale!
