We ended up with three people for a bit of a get together on Saturday. We had a good time and the weather was great. Erica's first cold water dive. I love my Whites dry suit :cool2:

Yea, talked w/'Spawn', said her lips turned blue. Think I'll stay w/'tropical' diving. Like Happy Hour, there's always somewhere in the world to dive 'naked'.

Time on earth is precious, time underwater even more so. Live life one day at a time. Dive your @$$ off!!!

There are some things you do only once in life.... and yeah this was one of them.

I swear someone said the water was 60 degrees, yeah they lied! Maybe at 3 feet it was but it was 44 at depth. BURRRR I don't even like my air temps that low!
Make sure you never run out of Erica!

Even in the dead heat of summer, Dutch can be pretty cold below 25'. I was there with another buddy on Saturday but we had to leave before Jerry got there. It was pretty crowded on the Peninsula Side with DUI having a dry suit day. We had to suit up at the car near the food court. Going up that hill with a set of doubles on your back was a real exercise.

OH man, I was at Dutch Springs last weekend, and all the guys in drysuits had blue-ish lips.

The thermocline wasn't so bad at 27 feet - cold, but like a walk-in freezer. When we went down to 40, I couldn't stay. We saw "the van" and I clutched my arms to indicate cold, and we went back to the relatively warm waters of 30.

The computer indicated 60 - not sure if that was on entry or at depth.

Not sure i would dive Dutch Springs again unless I'm getting a drysuit cert.

Peace of mind? It's a Piece of Cake.

That actually sounds like a nice temperature, though I do like my waters cold. I found one spot in my lake which is about 45 F at about 45 feet (imagine that), I like to chill out there when its hot out. Though, we normally have warmer temperatures of 55-60 degrees in places where the water circulates. Maybe I should hit up dutch springs next time I'm in the area.

Well since I 'grew up' at Dutch I am used to the temps....but I dive dry. It is currently about 51 degrees at 60 feet....about 57 at 30 feet......by the way 57 feels AWESOME after spending 30 minutes at 51 degrees!
