Kamala -

I went through something similar a few years ago. I hope and wish for the best outcome for your loved ones. One thing, though, that may sound counterintuitive: before you can take care of anyone else, you have to take care of yourself - physically and emotionally. Please try to eat well, sleep enough, and give and get lots of hugs!

If there's anything I can do to help, just let me know.

All the best from tj and me. These are times that words just don't work, but thoughts and prayers may help.
No aquarium, no tank in a marine land, however spacious it may be, can begin to duplicate the conditions of the sea. And no dolphin who inhabits one of those aquariums or one of those marine lands can be considered normal.

Take care Kamala and know that things will get better. Very sorry to hear about the complicated situation recently. When multiple things happen at the same time it always tests our will and staying power. I think you've got it in you to get through this.

Glad to hear that your home now as well and can start to take care of things easier in a comfortable environment.

:thankyou:

This community is so powerful and wonderful! Words can not express my gratitude... :respect:

But your prayers and well wishes and positive thoughts are WORKING!!! My grandmom is not only remembering her family...she is starting to get "sassy" again! :wakawaka: She is giving the hospital workers hell and they think she is doing great for an 80 year old...they can't believe she is 99.5!

And my mom will being doing 1000% better when she gets to see her mom on Saturday! :cheerleader:

As for me...that which doesn't kill you makes you stronger... working on the latter and trying to avoid the former! ;)

Update:

I just spent Monday afternoon, Tuesday and Wednesday with my grandmother on the way home for the Denver Dive Show. I am so thrilled to have been able to see her. When she smiles she lights up a room...no kidding! There are so many sad people in nursing homes and yet she is always smiling. A lot of her memory has returned and she DID know who I was! :wakawaka: I was so afraid the dementia had progressed too far but it seems a lot of it was brought on by dehydration, being anemic and not eating well. When she was admitted she could not walk, sit up, or even feed herself. Now she can sit up, feed herself again and even do a little walking with a walker. She is also able to wheel herself around in her wheelchair... MIRACLES!!!

They hope she will progress to the point where she can be released to go home but she will no longer be 100% independent. Her home is being remodeled to add handicap bars and lock off the basement, tighten the carpets to avoid falling, etc. She will need 24 hr care which is not only expensive but very challenging to find qualified help and someone my grandmother will allow in her home.

There are many logistics to be dealt with but they are the 'best' logistics...the others are far too worse to think about!!!

I can not thank everyone enough for all their prayers and good wishes and to ask that you please continue as they are WORKING!!!!

I hope to post a few pictures too once I get settled back into being home and in the office! Thank you, kamala
