Hey gang... just got the following update from one of our members... please READ AND HEED.

I actually fall in to that category. I have been diving for over 35 years, but never did get my advanced cert. I have found a number of places in the last few years that have been requiring the advances cert for their trips, and I have missed out on a trip or two because of it. In those instances, the dive operator told me that their insurances required advanced certs as a minimum, so they could not take me out despite my experience. That was frustrating, but those are the times we live in. Although I wasnt seriously looking at this trip, the great price on getting the advanced card might make it well worth the time. On top of that, it is a week of diving at a wonderful price, and the travel is cheap and easy. I think I am starting to talk myself into this.

INSTRUCTION UPDATE:

Do you NOT have your nitrox or AOW (advanced open water) yet? If not then this trip is a great opportunity to get it. Due to the more challenging diving in Jupiter (drift diving and deeper depths over 60ft) we want everyone to be AOW or equivilent. We are arranging classes as follows:


NITROX

You can do this online for approx $130 and then we'll do the practicals in Florida


AOW:

This particular class is designed to help those who have the typical AOW dives under their belt but just don't have the card. OR it is for someone who is either a natural and/or we know your diving skills and know you'd handle this trip and this diving just fine even though you don't have the AOW card. So if you've been doing deeper dives, can navigate fairly well, have done a night dive, have dove off a boat, know what a lot of fishes are already, etc. but do not have your advanced open water...then this class is for you! />

We'll be charging $200 for this class vs the normal rates of $250-$350 or even in some places $400. YES Membership does have rewards!!! />

I'm in!!! Well, sort of...Is there an adjusted price for only 5 nights of hotel (Sun, Mon, Tues, Weds, Thurs, checkout Friday noon)??

My schedule:
Sat 7/20 - fly into Tampa from Barbados Trip
Sat/Sun - hang out with some Tampa friends
Sun evening - drive to Boca Raton to join the group.
Mon-Friday - dive, dive, dive!!!!
Friday afternoon - drive up 95 to catch up with Melbourne friends

Once I join up with the group I will have a nice truck that can carry 3-4 more people & their gear wherever needed.

The Dive op in Key Largo requires you to have your AOW before you can dive more than 60ft. I did this on one of my trips there. It was well worth it!! I learned quite a bit and had fun doing it! I'm really glad I got it done!
