Well.... the hotel you have chosen for the beginning of the trip is close to everything.

About 2.5 miles to the beach.
About 2 miles to dive shops.
About 2 miles to 'downtown' Boca Raton.
About 2 miles to jetski rental.
About 2.5 miles to beach bars/restaurants.
About 4 miles to Florida Atlantic University
About 6 miles to Gumbo Limbo Nature Center / Turtle rehabilitation facility.
About 6 miles to Butteryfly world.
About 8 miles to parasailing.
About 12 miles to Wakodahatchee Wetlands bird sanctuary.


As far as a traditional SingleDivers.com happy hour... the hotel itself might be an excellent choice. It's VERY easy to get to for all the 'local' SD'ers, as well as those flying or driving in.
I'll keep thinking about it.

AIRPORT PICK UPS & DROP OFFS

Hey gang...are any of our local divers able to help with an airport pick or two? We are trying to keep the fly in divers from having to rent cars if at all possible. And even if you just a local FL member who can help out...that is great!

So let us know... we are starting to look at the logistics of getting people where we need to have them. />

I sadly can't take a whole week off work (I just did to go to Bonaire), but a friend and I are thinking about doing a long weekend in Florida to go diving the same time that you guys will be there - seems like it would be way more fun to join you if that's possible!

Hello! Joining the last part of the trip diving with Emerald is no problem at all as that boat carries 3 more pax then the first boat aka Starfish. We are still finalizing who is doing the whole week to see if that will fill the first boat. If we do not we'll be happy to open up spots for either operator. It does not look like the car pool on the way to Florida is going to work out. I am looking to head down a few days early, and visit with some friends in the Tampa area. Ed

I am out on the fossil ledge for the week, so I am not checking in regularly. I will be driving down from exit 8 in South Carolina. We can try to work something out for a car pool, if I can figure out where he can leave his car. Will follow up when I am home again. Ed
