Any thoughts are using Winair through St. Maartin? It apparently have a codeshare with US Airways and can do it in a single day return via Charlotte.

BTW, I have this worked out now where I can fly American down and US Air on the return and end up with no overnight layover for about $900 RT including the flight to DOM.

Since they are soon to be the same airline, this looks to be the way to go for me.

Looks like there are options out of St. Maartin starting about 2:30, so I could use either the contract or the charter to get from Dom to SXM on the 31st.

Anyone know if the base cost of this trip will be close to last year's trip?

Just looking at cost potential for trips this year. Thanks.

Base is $1250 or so...so as to be close to last year's pricing. See last year's trip for what that will cover.

What's your timeframe for getting this trip open? I'll be offline Jan 25-29th and don't want to miss it!

Thanks Kamala! That will help for now. I'll check out last year's trip costs and what they included.

I keep hearing so many good things about Dominica from many different sources that I feel I have to try to get there.

If I only had a crystal ball. I'm seeing flights from ORD to SXM for just under $600 and one of them is non-stop with United. Ahhh the pressure to decide.

I just want to make sure I'm looking at this correctly. I think something like this would work for using the charter flight to get to DOM. I would get into SXM at 2:55pm leaving me just about 2 hrs to get to the charter flight. My question is on the return would this itinerary be possible with the charter flight? When do we leave DOM for SXM?

Leaving on the 24th
United – Flight 1671 ORD 8:50a SXM 2:55p 5h 05m nonstop

Leaving on the 31st
United – Flight 1744 SXM 1:27p ORD 6:18p 5h 51m nonstop
Thanks to anyone with experience in booking this vacation previously. Posted Image

We leave DOM at 11am arriving SXM 12 noon. You should allow 2 hrs if at all possible or be REALLY flexible on whether your luggage makes the return with you. They WILL deliver free of charge 2 days later as they only fly every two days.

Thanks Kamala. It seems like this itinerary might work then at least for the trip to DOM. As you said the 1.5 hrs on the way back might be tight to make. I won't be booking just yet but good to know the option might be out there.

Thanks again.

Change of plans. Work is limiting my ability to go for two weeks. Please change me to week #2 only. Yes, it did require I change my airline reservations as well - ouch!

George, I wish I could pull the trigger but I'll probably wait until after Truk and Palau to make a decision on the next trip. Hopefully airfare doesn't go up too much if I decide to grab this trip.
