From what I understand, if you're serious about diving, the only way to experience Raja Ampat is via live aboard.

Obviously, both of you have enjoyed the wonders of Raja Ampat. If you were to recommend liveaboard diving in this diverse area, what length of trip would you recommend, 7 days or 10/11 days?

Color me extremely interested in this trip as well! 
I have no prior Indonesian diving experience, but i think that given Raja Ampat's departure harbours (Sorong or Ambon) are such a pain to get to (easily 2 days traveling time) a longer trip makes more sense.

Great question! I currently have an 11 day trip and a 7 day trip so that a few lucky people could do 18 days if they wanted too! And we could accommodate both desires...shorter and longer trips. I *may* be able to convert the 7 day trip to an 11 day trip making it two back to back trips since only 12 people can go on each trip. But of course we'd need to know what people wanted first. Kamala

Thanks Jose...I may have raised it too high...as in this trip is VERY close to Truk for which we have a triple dip on... I'm guessing you are leaning more towards this trip vs Truk now?

11 days minimum. I want to do the back to back, whether that be 11+7 or 11+11. Gah. I might have to go back to work. At first I thought it a blessing from heaven to have found this group but starting to be concerned I'll be bankrupt by December 2015.

Yeah I'm leaning toward Raj Ampat vs. Truk, and somehow swinging Wakatobi. I'm going to have to start selling off belongings, blood, organs, my soul etc, just as long as there's enough of me left to go diving!

Maybe I need to start a referral program...you know ...get someone else to sign up that is not a member of SD and get a referral fee! You could heavily subsidize your trips! It works for dish tv!
