FINAL CALL for extras...

 

This is the FINAL call for extra dives, nitrox and Bloody Bay Wall dive, nite dive etc. as I have to pay on Monday. Prices go up substantially on island... for example the 5 extra afternoon dives are $175 in advance or $365 on island.

 

Please pay for you final extras via the new system. Let us know if you have any questions. Thank you, Kamala

Hey everyone! We had a bunch of last minute signups and payments this weekend. Please check post #1 HERE. Let us know if we have captured you correctly. As of 6/28 these are all the payments and sign up for extras we have rec'd.  If we've missed something, please post here and we'll get it straightened out.  Thanks for your help!!

I know I paid for afternoon nitrox the other day.  Not sure if I paid for afternoon dives with original registration as I don't have an itemized list of what I paid for but you don't have me on either the afternoon nitrox or afternoon dives list.  Molly

Hey Molly... lot into the site and look under MY TRIPS under Trips off the main menu. Then look  in the upper left and look under MY PAYMENTS and you can see what you have paid for and what you have signed up for.

 

This is the raw info that our trip helpers are using to update the main lists. If something still seems to be missing let us know. There may be a payment from the old system that did not migrate to the new one.

Molly, I see you added afternoon Nitrox on 6/30 but I don't see that youve added the additional dives.

Counting down the days. Any last minute suggestions on what to bring, not to bring ... generally or as it relates particularly to Cayman Brac?

Hey gang...pls forgive ALL the delays...our new system is so amazing but also has required such a new learning curve for how to do things AND we are trying to run the old system in tandem with it so just running a behind right now.

 

1. Make sure you check the luggage info for your LAST flight to Cayman Brac. Some will be on a jet and some will be on a small plane. They have different luggage limits. The small plane will weigh your carry on.

 

2. Start drinking now so that you will not be dehydrated.

 

3. While the restaurant is nice the dress code is NOT fancy. Everyone should be good with only 3 sets of shorts and perhaps a clean shirt/top for each day and underwear and what you need for diving. You may have a sleep outfit and you may have a travel outfit but that is all you need. Shoes can be pared down to one or two max. There is no hiking so no need for clothes like that. No need to dress for dinner so one set of shorts and shirt is great for all day.

 

4. Bring sunscreen and bug repellant and a hat and sunglasses.

 

5. There is Internet so you can bring any electronics you desire.

 

6. Pack everything and then unpack half of what you first packed and you'll be great.

Yikes. I'm on one of the small planes on the way - Cayman Express. Does this mean a checked bag will come later on the larger plane?

 

Looks like I'm on the regular Cayman air on the way back. That would mean the checked bag would travel with me, right? That's important for making the AA flight back home.

 

I don't see how I could get all my gear into carry on.

 

I thought there was some hiking on the island as well. No?

Tom, I read up on all the flights earlier so I think this is accurate. Your baggage should be on the same plane as you; it's just that the smaller planes have lower weight limits:

• checked: 55lb total for small plane (vs. 55lb each [x2] for jet service)
• carryon: 15lb for small plane (vs. 40lb for jet service)

 

There is supposed to be hiking, nature preservers, and some caves as well as some shore diving and snorkeling. I'm not doing afternoon dives, and I've been talking with the resort about possibly renting a car to do a little exploring in the afternoons.  That is, if the hammock doesn't call first

Traci, funny you should ask!  There are a few on the island.  But more importantly, there's one called "Dive Pirates Booty" in the wheelhouse of the Keith Tibbetts wreck!

I'm not doing afternoon dives either and am interested in using some of those days for exploring. I'd be willing to share expenses and experiences, if you're up for that.

NOTE:

Those leaving the 19th so doing the extra day of diving on the 18th....your afternoon pkg has one extra day so is is $210 vs $175. This affects Jennifer, Scott & Janelle.

Hi Kamala! If this is an option, I'd prefer to keep the existing afternoon dive pkg w/o the extra dive the afternoon of the 17th. I'm still in for the two extra morning dives on the 18th, just not the extra afternoon dive on the 17th. Does that make sense, and can that be accommodated?
