Created the Guaranteed Spot List GSL for this trip and have a couple on it now.  See the first post for the tally of those people including:

S/O inventory has been reduced to 2 (from 4) for the GSL.

 

D/O inventory has been reduced to 15 (from 16) until Kamala's spot is booked.   (I was waiting for QC before the spot is booked)

Another suggestion is to let them have an early booking period where no one else can book and see if they sign up and then remove the spots not booked yet BUT either way we usually have to touch it twice one way or other. Tks, Kamala

PM sent inviting the GSL people to book. Once they do we will announce that the trip is open for general booking. Pam has protected their spots so we are good even if others notice the trip is now live.

GUARANTEED SPOT LIST:

 

• Ken aka Weesh has signed up leaving only Molly622 left.
• We will open FULLY & PUBLICIZE in a day or so if she does not sign up soon since we have her and Ken's spots removed from inventory
• We will NOT put Ken's spot back until we are sold out of single rooms and/or Molly signs up so we can do it all at once or out of necessity.

 

OPENING VS PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT & OPENING

 

• I am doing a test right now. I wanted to allow the GSL peeps to sign up prior to announcing the trip open. (I may not do it this way again because it has created havoc for some of the team so I do not want to do that but I will let this ride out to see how my theory plays out.)
• The 2 GSL people had inventory hidden so we could have opened publicly and let them book as they wished within the window given (usually 2 weeks and I'm trying get that down to 1 week). By hiding the inventory we can open publicly and add the inv back as they sign up.
• This time I chose to do an unofficial or soft open where the trip was made public and anyone could sign up to see if anyone even noticed it. So far no one has other than those tasked with noticing these things on behalf of the club.
• If for no other reason I may not try it again because it has created stress and was not fully explained well enough before taking action. And for that I am sorry.
• I was just trying to allow a few days for the guaranteed spot peeps to sign up and then announce it.
• I guess we will announce today and do it as we have in the past as it occurs to me as I write this that I may create amous because those on the early notification list may think its not working because they were not notified before the trip "actually" opened. This is probably what was going thru the minds of those who did not think this was a good idea (amongst other things).

I hope this helped clarify my actons. If not it helped me think it thru a bit better.

Just cleaned up the 'optional' additional date possibilities. Should be good to go for full opening and notifications.

DANG...I just got a message from Bruce aka Gobie that his dad is sick and he can't book the trip on his phone so can we put one spot for you back OR will I do the trip sign up for him? Let me know if you are willing to touch this again to take a spot out and hold for him on the GSL or I can just log in as him and book for him. Let me know. Tks

FYI:

 

 - Just sold a third S/O Diving spot for RTB 2022 and checked the Booking Page; we are now out (NO ACCOMMODATION) for S/O spots on RTB 2022

 - We show 15 spots available D/O which would be the correct number for RTB 2022 but Kamala has not yet been "sold" a D/O Spot in the system (does not appear in the Trip Roster via the Sandbox yet).
 

PACKAGE & INVENTORY SUMMARY: 

 

D/O Diving -  16 spots - 1 sold = 15 SPOTS AVAILABLE (Kamala)

S/O Diving -    3 spots - 3 sold = 0 SPOTS AVAILABLE (Ken, Molly, Eric)
