This trip sounds awesome, and as good a trip as any on which to finally meet y'all! Especially all you lovely Texas gals! (Unless, of course, I manage to also go on the Bonaire trip the month before.)

I am eager to see the pricing details, because I will try to use airline miles to get to Texas, and I should thus book a flight ASAP. The miles are with United, so hopefully they fly into Hobby. As I see it I'd need to fly in on Friday (with plenty of time to spare), and fly out Tuesday afternoon/evening. Is that correct?

As an out-of-towner, I would need a ride, a hotel room for Monday night and weights. Is the hotel room included in the cost? I thought I saw someone post something to that effect......

So do we have a tentative "guest list" yet?

The cost will be the diving and lodging and food for Friday, Sat, Sun and Monday divng but not lodging for Monday evening.

Once we know who all is coming in from out of town we can set up travel arrangements for transport to the boat, lead, and hotel accommodations on Monday for people who fly out on Tuesday.

I hope to have the pricing set in the next day or so! It will be a blast! -ww

Just got the pricing and I'm working on the trip posting as we speak. The deposit will be $200 and I'll mark you as 'check in the mail' when I post it shortly!

This is non-diving related, but I just happened to notice that "Phantom of the Opera" will be playing at the Hobby Center in Houston in July. I don't know if anyone else would be interested in joining me, but I might consider flying in Thursday instead of Friday, to see this show Thursday night before the dive trip. If anyone else wants to see this show, maybe we can buy a block of seats next to each other.

Question for everyone...do we want to do a post trip Happy Hour on Monday July 11th since at least half of the participants will be departing on Tuesday? Or do a pre-trip Happy Hour on Friday July 9th BEFORE we depart in Freeport???

We have to depart by 9pm so we could do a Freeport Happy Hour??? -ww

(Doesn't make sense to do it on Thursday as that adds another night of hotel.)

Post trip HH for Monday is my vote. We really shouldn't do the HH before boarding as there is a lot of work to do after we board as well as quite a few briefings to sit through.

I am up for both, but I see ZD posted a good point before I finished typing this. So will say Monday night HH, and if we have a place to meet before boarding the boat I will be there too. I will just refrain from any alcohol.

MNJoe

Check will be in the mail today.

There is a great place for ALL of us to meet, mingle, have dinner and a couple of drinks (I cannot drink unfortunately as I will be working) before heading over to the boat for boarding. There is a restaraunt right across the street called 'On the River'. They have good food and the prices are not bad.

Just need to confirm the time off, but I doubt it will be a problem my boss sort of owes me. So put me down.

What time is the last dive done Monday, so I can look at flights on Tuesday, I am thinking I would be safe with 11 am or noonish.
