I just sent her a PM. Most folks have the default notification to email set & I'm betting she does too.

UPDATE on Mickey
02/06/05 3:15 pm
Just got off the cell phone with Skye. she has been at the hospital
the whole time with Mickey. I'm sure she will answer your pm's
later. I got her permission to give us an update.

Take a Deep breath everybody.......

Mickey is breathing on his own but is still in intensive care. to
be straight forward he has massive head injuries and still is unconcious.
Skye sounded like she was handling it pretty well tho. we didnt talk long so this
is all I have for now. I will try to get ahold of her tonight or tomorrow
she is aware that alot off us have been showing our concern for Mickey
and Her and she deeply appreciates it!

Mike

OMGosh, how did I not see this. Blondie, I am so sorry for this tragic accident. My prayers go out to you, Mikey, and your family, as well as the Doctors and Nurses to ensure their proper care and guidance. If there is anything that we can do, pleae don't hesitate to let us know.

Just remember, GOD works in mysterious ways and watches over all of us.

Keep those prayers coming. Mikey & Skye both still need our support.

Mikey is still in Neuro-intensive care, he has not awakened as of yet. I don't know how much I told you before so here is what I know.  He was with some friends Sat afternoon and they were walking on the shoulder of the street in one Ponchatula (a small town next to us) waiting to cross the street. He crossed the first lane of traffic and was hit in the second lane by the passenger side of the vehicle. The witnesses gave police statements that the vehicle was traveling approx 60mph in the 35 mph zone the impact threw Mikey over the top of the vehicle and he struck the pavement with the left front of his head. He has had 6 hours of surgery in which they have removed the shattered bone, a blood clot and damaged brain matter. Other injuries include possible damage to his left eye, a broken clavicle, scrapes and various contusions.  He is on a respirator but has taken a few breaths on his own.

Walter -

Does Skye need anything from the SD community? Cards to Mikey that she can read to him? Paperback books to read while she is sitting with him? Etc..?

I've been asking, I've not given her suggestions of things we can do, but I will now. Thanks for the idea.

Sassy,

Skye says that's a great idea. Anyone wishing to send anything to Mikey, please PM or e-mail any Administrator or Moderator. We'll send you the address. You can e-mail us with our screen name @SingleDivers.com.

Keep praying, he's getting better, but still has a long way to go.

I am sure I didn't see this because I was traveling last week. My prayers will continue to be sent for everyone involved.

I just received this update from Skye. Keep those prayers coming, they are working.

Just sending out a quick word. Mikey is starting to wake up. He is being sedated but he has moved his right hand and the toes on his right foot, no response on the left side yet. He had a midocardio infraction but no damage to his heart and it is holding a steady pattern.

Another update received this morning:

Just letting you know Mikey is fully awake now and is being evaluated for placement in the Neuro rehabilitation center at Turo. His leg and left arm muscles have athropied so they will have to do alot of physical retraining to get him to walk and regain use of his arm. He has some memory and concentration problems aslo. I'm won't know the extent of the problems untill they finish the evaluation, but his physician says he has a good chance of recovery since he is young and was healthy before the accident. He is talking and said to tell Dejah thank you for the card. (Yes, he still has his manners, guess all that drilling it into him when he was little worked).
I just want to say thank you again for your support and kindness during this time.

Keep those prayers coming, they are doing wonders.
