Humor me. After our snorkel class, tell me if you learned proper snorkel use.

I agree with WW...I hate snorkels and only use one when I absolutely have to. I think this is because both of us are used to diving the NC wrecks where a snorkel is more of a liability than an asset.

My equipment:

Vyper computer (wrist style love it!)
Mares BC (bought is used for $50...it does the job but I'll be glad when I can get a better one)
Aeris fins
Bare wetsuits/skins/hoods
Atomic Regulator (LOVE IT!!!)
Follow your bliss, just don't follow it too closely in case it stops suddenly!

I rarely use a snorkel either, but when I do, I want it to be a simple J.

Yes....in NC with possible current or just getting tangled up in ropes and lines...they are far more of a hazard then asset. Most people stick them on their leg with thier knife...

Let's see, hmmm, I'll try to get past the snorkel stuff as I have 4: 1 pocket, one dry, two simple tubes with a mouthpiece. It all depends what I'm diving on which one I use. Back to the original topic, I have the following equipment:

BCs:
(1) Deep Outdoors wing and jacket w/Backplate, OMS single tank adapter
(1) Aeris Atmos XT BC
(1) Deep Outdoors travel BC (can't remember the model off the top of my head)

Regulators and gauges:
(1) Sherwood reg sets w/Magnum II 2nd stage and octpus
(1) Sherwood reg Oasis 2nd stage and shadow safe 2nd
(1) Poseiden Jetstream wiht Jetstream Octopus
(?) independent SPGs, depth gauges and compasses & consoles of various makes

Computers:
(1) Aeris Atmos II computer
(1) OMS version of the Nitek
(1) Suunto Vyper
(1) Sherwood Logic

Fins:
1 set each of Gorrillas, Turtles, Atomic Split fins and misc. other old ones that I lend out.

Exposure:
(1) Seaquest 3mm jumpsuit
(1) Bare 5mm jumpsuit
(1) Seaquest 7mm Farmer John w/step through jacket
(1) Whites Nexus dry suit with accompanying underwear, boots, etc.
Variety of hoods, vests, gloves etc. as needed

Tanks:
(2) PST 120 HP Steel
(2) Scubapro LP 94 with OMS manifold

Misc:
(1) Riffe Metal Tech II speargun for special occasions
(1) Reef Master camera (the fixed focal film version) with 2 strobes
Enough clips, ties, bungies and bangels, ropes and repair stuff to outfit a small LDS

If I die tomorrow, will I have enough toys to win? At least be in the running? :)

Joe Andrews.
