I'm in school until the end of May, and probably won't be able to go during my xmas break, so I doubt it. :respect:

Regardless, please let me know of your experience there. (Or of any other good PADI instructor in a warm climate. I'm still open to suggestions!)

:respect:

This is something I'll be doing in 2006. It requires a bit of preparation to do what I'm planning to do. Will keep you posted. Belize has good diving and Ambergris still has the old Caribbean feel--you'd like it there. I spend a week there about 10 years ago and from what I hear, it hasn't changed much.
There are old divers and there are bold divers, but there ain't no old, bold divers.

2006? :respect: Well, maybe we'll see each other there after all! :respect:

I've had a few suggestions from SD as well as from another board, and so far Peter seems to be the best fit.

But I'm still open to more suggestions! Anyone else care to share?

Too many to pick from, but go with where you feel the most comfortable. If you let us know, perhaps we'll join you!!!!!

When are you planning on going? I need to go back to Belize around Feb 2006 to finish a few things.

Let us all know, starting in November, I should be working 4 day weeks, possibly allowing for a Fri - Mon vacation for a quick weekend dive get-a-way. I know another good shop in the Bahamas where I just came back from a 2 week vacation before I saw Peter in Belize. I didn't take any instruction there, but I was diving with a father and his 11 year old son, who was getting his PADI OW certification. I saw how the instructor was interacting with the child and was very attentitive. I know if the father wasn't pleased and conserned about his son's safety, he wouldn't have continued letting his son complete his certification there. (please don't debate the safety of an 11 year old diving).

BTW, I'm always up for traveling, especially to the Caribbean, if my time and budget allows for it :respect:

Too many?!? I'm finding there's not enough! :respect:

While I've had a few people suggest specific dive shops in Hawaii, no one had actually trained there and were therefore unable to suggest an instructor based on firsthand experience. I've had suggestions for specific instructors in Texas, Ohio, and Indiana, but I really have my heart set on going somewhere tropical.

As this is quite important to me, and my disposable income is limited, I really want to try and make as an informed decision as possible.

So please, ask your friends and neighbours if need be! I'll be most appreciative!! :anna:

:respect:

Don't know as there are any PADI instructors in Cuba, annasea. Unless they came in from Spain or Venezuela or Mexico or somewhere.

PADI doesn't list any.
