Um... she's managed to keep those of us who have taken GUE courses from being nasty to other divers who haven't joined the cult movement and she's not fat.

Linda, this BUDS for you! But, not the right lady. Think east coast.

Trace- Sylvia Earle and her husband (Giles Mead at the time) were at Harvard when I was there. Shortly afterwards they moved to Los Angeles when he became director of the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History. Sylvia later became a board member at the small private school I taught marine biology at here on the island in the 60's and 70's, and we also worked together on several Cousteau programs in the 70's.

I'm anxious to know who this woman is. When will you let us know... I don't deal well with anticipation!

Thanks. I didn't understand either...but where does Fiji fit it??

"Fiji" was just a metaphor for any conversation that the average diver might enjoy sharing in a polite, upbeat, social setting about diving, dive travel or equipment. It just popped into my mind because it's the next SD big trip.

But, trust me, we GUE students can find something wrong with Fiji if we wanted to. (Kind of like I just ended that sentence with a preposition!) Vinny, let's post to the Q.L. and ask if there are any GUE/DIR shops there. If not, that's just the FIRST thing that we could find wrong. And so it goes... And so it goes...

Okay, here's a new trivia question... in keeping with romance...

A guy diver and a girl diver decided to get married.

They wanted to spend their honeymoon somewhere romantic, but different.

They ordered dinner and were told it would be there in 30 minutes or it was free.

What historical event did their hunger for dinner rather than each other create and where did it occur?

Where do you find these things???

Ah nevermind...its more fun just wondering what the answer is and then waiting to see who will get it right.

And as usual....

I have no clue! :respect:
