i agree with all of jim's (even to the humor references - have you read jasper fforde?  if you like adams, you might like him), and the religious one.

Aha! I feel an excursion to Barnes & Noble coming on! :lmao:

Smoking is a good one, though I haven't dated a smoker since I quit the last time (1 year, 10 months, 15 days and counting). I can handle bars again without going insane, and I still hang out in the smoking areas at various customer sites. I honestly don't know what it is about the broadcast business, but all of the chief engineers at all of my TV stations smoke. Don't know if that one would neccessarily be a deal breaker, as long as she agrees to be banished to the patio with Tomcat to light up.

Excessive piercings are unattractive to me, though some of them can be quite interesting...ahem. Whew! OK, I'm back now...where were we? :usflag: Not sure they'd be dealbreakers for me, but she'd probably get tired of me fidgeting with the more prominent ones. :teeth:

Any sort of psychotic behaviour would (and has in a couple of cases) definitely get her voted off the island. Particularly any that prominently feature sharp pointy objects or firearms.

Addictions, particularly to illegal substances, fall into the realm of "needs professional help", and would at least require exile until it's fixed, possibly outright banishment from the kingdom if it's bad enough. Yep. Not gonna play any of those games, either.

Cheers!

Jim

Fiscal Responsability. Particularly if you are looking at marrage. Her debt/income/retirement is your debt/income/retirement, and vice-versa.

Is dating a bi-polar chick like having TWO girlfriends? :lmao:

Hmmm.... interesting concept. I did date twins in the past, although they were about 25 years apart (in terms of when they dated me, and their age at that time come to think of it). Lovely ladies both although one is no longer with us.

Hmmm... did my post get deleted or just disappear in cyberspace?

Deal stoppers... maybe none at this point! I'm desperate(ly seeking).

Neither! Your list of deal breakers and shallow stoppers can be found HERE.

:lmao:

Why, thank you Caetlonn for finding them. I'll copy them to this thread with some minor editing since this is where they should be.

Deal breakers?

Smoking! No question about it. I'm not totally intolerant... my housemate smokes but is extremely respectful and never smokes in the house.

Non-diver: Could possibly be overlooked if this were her only flaw and she were drop dead gorgeous, brilliant, rich and willing to support my diving and research (and go with me).

Lacking in intelligence! Not necessary intellect as it is usually used.

No sense of humor! Tested by how many of my jokes she understands... and laughs at.

Inflexible, unable to roll with the punches: Doesn't blow a gasket when something unexpected happens.

Game player: Unless in reference to board games. Actually, I don't like playing those either.

The shallow stoppers (must be used in combination with one or more of the above):

"Overly" endowed, especially artificially enhanced: Exception for those who required enhancement due to surgery.

Poorly shaped legs: What can I say, I'm a leg man. Gotta have those gams.

For me it's not excessive piercings (although there definitely is a limit), but there are certain ones that I find totally unattractive.

Good man, that's the way it should be. For the record mine stay in as well, if she don't like them she doesn't have to stick around.
