I was wondering if that was USD or CDN$ too!!

WW says she is going to add it to the booking calendar so stay tuned.

Diverlady

Hadn't thought of that, and I'm wondering if Brian & WWench did?

So, is it US$ or CD$...??

thanks, don

Whoops...fixed it in the first and main post and yes it is USD. That is how Brian figured it all up. When he returns he can verify if that is what he did but it seems that way to me. -ww

BTW - I noticed there was no mention of meals in the the Labour Day Brockville thing. Does the hotel/lodge have a dining room?  Just wondering about breakfasts and lunches. At this point I'm assuming they're not included in the price or you would have mentioned it.

Lynne

Actually Brian and I talked about doing lunch at the hotel before going on the boat but I don't recall if we decided to do it or not. Wait til he gets back and we'll get a final decision on it. Not sure if he added that in or not but he is diving this weekend so we'll know on Monday along with a final confirmation on the USD or CDN issue.

As for breakfast I think there are several restaurants nearby but Brian checked on that as well. Good questions girl...keep them coming and we'll have this all worked out soon! Kamala

Shuzbut.... sorry about that.

Since diving is Sat/Sun/Mon -- I'll just be staying Sat & Sun. 'Cuz after all it's only an hour away.

PS if someone is flying into Ottawa, I can offer a drive . . . PM to discuss.

BTW Dudes & dudettes...

There are two "major" grocery stores in town. If you're driving in the easiest (and better one IMHO) is just off the 401 by the Comfort Inn.

Yes, there is a "booze" and a "beer" store near by.

For those going, flying in but want groceries --- I can do a grocery run to save a stop.

Although not glamerous, the accommodation is quite comfortable. As WW has posted, the rooms all have a mini fridge and microwave. They also have dishes and cutlery for you to use (no need to pack them), I also saw a toaster.

I'm planning on coming too...Kamala-send me the drive-in costs. Only a 3 hour drive for me, but then I'm heading to Plattsburgh NY afterwards. If someone wants to fly in to Rochester and then out of Montreal, I might be able to help with transportation.

I will answer one question right now. That is in US dollars. I figured in an approximate exchange rate and added the CDN tax.

As to lunches, I will hassle that out with Kamala in the morning as I did eight dives this weekend and am pretty well whipped (chasing after the Captain's life ring in 50 degree water when he accidently tossed it out with no line attached may have something to do with that, LOL).

Edited by Diverbrian, 27 June 2004 - 08:08 PM.

A person should be judged in this life not by the mistakes that they make nor by the number of them. Rather they are to be judged by their recovery from them.

Looks like y'all have the basics well covered: Dives, Rooms, Saturday night party - all at a good price. You done good, Brian. We'll find our way there, and I'm sure we're find enough food! Don't worry about it...

Cool looking boat...

BTW
The motel does not have a dining room. All rooms have a small fridge, microwave toaster and there is a "continental" style breakfast served outside the office.

There are many restaurants in town, including the famous Timmy's and all the standard fast food joints.

As for the boat -- it's a great little set-up.

What I like about it (yes I've been on it):
-- the service Evan & Anick are there to help, not just stare at you as a source of dollars. They provide good briefings. Both are instructors and have a wealth of knowledge of diving in the area (and elsewhere).
-- easy access ladder

-- although a bit tight for space, the "diver" area can accommodate divers, their equipment & spare tank easily. The cabin area available for "dry" stuff is ideal (that where you'll toss your gear bags once you set up your gear)

-- the boat is fast, no puttering up and down the river to get to the sites.

-- the back area can be covered to protect from the sun so you don't get too hot.

and oh yes (the girls will like this one)

-- the boat has a head!

I can second the fact that Evan is great, very knowledgeable, and a good guy.

Ok I love famous restaurants!!! Tell me more!!

Ok so we have finalized the price and whether it is US or CDN. Brian you sent me the final pricing for 3nites but not 2 nites like DG needs? The only hook with stay less then 4 nites is the rooms are based upon d/o so we need to room 3niters with other 3 niters if possible to avoid single supplements. That would also apply to people staying 2 nites for which I'll need a price for as well Brian.

I will also need payment asap as I have to pay for half the boat today. Thanks, ww
