Good info DG...I had actually forgotten all about it.

But rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming--"WOW--What a ride!"

No such thing as a silly question. :D

If you can get a direct flight to Ottawa, that would be closer, however, Toronto (Peason Int'l airport) is probably the most popular one.

your best bet for brockville (AFIK)
is going to be toronto, as far as an international airport is concerned.

I'm not finding anything that goes directly to Ottawa. It'll have to be Toronto.

Ok we have the hotel firmed up and the diving. We'll also do a traditional SD style bbq and our new infamous or is that famous....group shared happy hours!!!  Brian and I will hammer this out tonight when he gets off work and out of class.

Don is itching to get his ticket and so I am I so we are motivated to get this locked down asap!  -ww

Yes, well, with Mem Day WE past, tickets are getting tighter, unless a surprise sale with inventory available comes out. Always a possibility...

I had thought Ottawa, or even Montreal, but hadn't hought of Toronto Peason Int'l. Thanks, I'll have to explore those.

I spoke with W-Wench a couple of weeks ago, but we were both packing for trips. Is it still 2 dives a day, or can we add on 1 a day for extra money?

I know you have a lot of details to organize and present. I'll keep watching here.

thanks y'all! don

It's a 3 day trip but if you want a 4th day we can ask about that.

My guess is that you're working hard and fast, as is your nature, and you just misread me...

Is it still 2 dives a day, or can we add on 1 a day for extra money?

Perhaps more clearly put as "Is it still 2 dives per day, or can we add on 1 per day for extra money? "

Anyway, I'll look forward to details, pricing, etc.

thanks, don

I'm missing the point here somewhere - which I've been caught doing before.

Okay, I can fly into Ottawa, Toronto, or Montreal - one about as easy as another. Toronto looks to be 137 miles further from Brockville than Ottawa, though, so why would you suggest Toronto...?

I can currently get into Montreal cheaper than the other two, and while it's 56 miles further than Ottawa, that's not much. It's still 81 miles closer than Toronto.

I know you folks use Kilometers, but the percentages are the same, so - what am I missing....? {Do we have a dumb similie here? :welcome: }

thanks, don

You just won't be able to get a direct flight to Ottawa. You'll connect in Toronto. I don't know about Montreal as I didn't look at that option. So that's what we're getting at here. If you prefer to fly to Ottawa (or Montreal) from Toronto then that would be your choice. Either way you're looking at renting a vehicle and doing some driving. My thought is it would be cheaper to rent a vehicle from Toronto and drive to Brockville rather than catch a connecting flight to Ottawa and then renting a vehicle.

I'll look at the Montreal option tomorrow.

Don,

I can answer your question about more dives being available. The answer would be unless we can find some shore diving that won't be possible. The boat is bought for the mornings and PM charters are likely to get us back a little late that time of year as far as light goes if we tried to buy another dive. I do believe that two wreck dives a day will be plenty though. :welcome:

Kamala and I are working on pricing as I write this. Stay tuned and be prepared to have fun!

Brian

I guess we're searching different sites...?

W-Wench prefers American, who has several non-stops between Dallas-Ft.Worth and Montreal, and several one-connections between DFW and Ottawa.

I usually fly Delta, and expect 2 connections almost anywhere I go, but I'm tentaively booked to arrive Montreal by noon. I cannot get flights that work into Ottawa, but that could open up if I need to change.

Toronto, with over a 3 hour drive to Brockville, just doesn't seem preferable to me. Fares seem to be about the same to the three choices?

But help me here, if I'm missing something.

Anyone else thinking about flying in? What works for y'all...?

thanks, don

f you fly into Toronto you're looking at close to a four hour drive.

If you fly into Montreal it's about a three hour drive.

If you fly into Ottawa it's about a one and half hour drive.

DL who do you think has been doing "scouting" for Brian? This could be my cheapest dive vacation yet!
