For Christmas though - just spent here locally with my family. Hang out - open presents - eat food.
I may take the kids to see Narnia on Christmas Eve.
Somehow it almost seems sureal -- like this whole holiday thing just shouldn't be here yet.

Then dive_addict and I are headed North to dive some deep Canadian wrecks and walls. After that we will meet up with cmt489 and her boyfriend for New Year's festivities! Who-hoo!!!

I will actually have 4 days off in a row! Woohoo! I love that we get Fri and Mon off foor both Xmas and New Years. So next week I have to work all of 3 days!
Sounds to me like some diving is in order, Kimber! Caetllonn will be out next week to get a sense of the island and whether I'm as decent a human being as I think I am. Of course since she doesn't dive yet, I'll have a lot of pent-up dive desire in me by New Years. Heck, I may even make the January Wrinkle's Dive since it is in your neck of the woods (er, ocean).

On the 26th, Donna and I load up the airplane and fly to Florida. We will be celebrating New Years Eve with friends and Walter diving off Deerfield Beach. Well, most everybody will be diving, I had my knee scoped on Monday, so I am not diving. Since Donna doesn't like night dives, we will bubble watch, have some bubbly, and watch the fireworks with the Captain while every one else celebrates the New Year down under.
Then, I fly back to Virginia on Air Tran on the 4th.

Hrmmm -- if you are coming to the mainland for the SD Wrinkles dive -- I just may make it out for it myself!

I'm heading to south Louisiana to visit my family, and have a "Cajun" Christmas. That consists of chicken and sausage gumbo, fried turkey, and slow smoked venison. The I won't be able to eat untill March or so.
Merry Christmas to everyone, and have a safe New Year!!!
Tony

Tomorrow I will drive back to Houston by way of the San Marcos outlet mall and try to get to the dive shop before it closes to pick up my new regulator Santa left for me.

Spent the early morning checking the SCUBA boards. Not much activity so I assume most were with their loved ones. Opened my gifts from the family which included some very nice things. Great (as always to talk to my sisters, nieces and nephews and Mom on the phone.
Complained that Santa didn't bring me what I really wanted... a brainy beautiful brunette under the tree! Well, I didn't really expect it because I've been a "bad" boy all year (although not as "bad" as I wanted to be, which is why I wanted the brunette). And although Santa did bring some really nice gifts (Trav-Tek wing, DIN-to-yoke adaptor, 19 cu ft pony thanks to Larry and Scuba Toys), I wish he'd used his own credit card instead of mine to pay for them!
In the true spirit of the season, good will towards men... and Dr. Bill towards women!!

Spent Christmas Eve at home with son, daughter, son-in-law, a couple of riends, ex-husband, and my dogs.
THis morning, same group of folks, opened lots of PRESENTS! Had to upload new picture in the spirit of the holiday season!
We usually go to the beach on Christmas, but the swell is HUGE and it's raining, so no-go this year. Sat around BBQ-ing, playing poker, and enjoying each other's company.

I have had a great holiday. I got off work at 7:00 am on chrismas eve. I caught the dive boat at 8:30 and had two good dives. The first was the weck of the Darlington. I've done that wreck so many times that I ended up looking around the surronding reefs for critters. I found a starfish with eight arms. The second dive was a reef site called Bad Lands. This dive spots is my favorite here in BDA. It is a series is of mushroom shaped coral formations. I dive this location quite a bit, so I know my way around well. The dive was going great untill my buddy, Jeff, and I spotted a diver floating on the surface pointing down at her weight belt! We finally got her fixed up and finished the dive. On christmas day, I did a shore dive from a friends house at Grape Bay. I found a great little spot with a few caves and tons of ledges and swimthrus. I actually added it to my list of favorite dives. After the dive, we all sat on the beach drinking champagne and jello shots, enjoying the day. The only downer this holiday, was the dive today got cancelled. We had a front move in over night and have winds of 25-30 knots. Next year if anybody wants to have a Bermudian Christmas let me know. The water temp is upper 60's and the vis should be great! I hope everybody else has had a holiday that was as good or better than mine.
