When I was in Sipadan last year, one of my dive buddies asked who's camera was falling into the Abyss....and I had 100 psi left in my tank. I was lucky one of the people I was diving with had 1000 psi and was a Dive Master and fitness instructor. Got my Camera back. Also when I was diving in the Galapagos you did a back flip and straight down! You could not come back (or would not want too!) to the Zodiac for your camera! Rough waters!
If your camera is not one of those monstrous ones Lanyard it to you BC!

Then in Roatan in April, my cheap Sealife replacement, came off my wrist and floated away. Tulio (may he rest in peace) saw it floating away and got it for me.
I'd hate to think what would happen to me if I got one that sinks.
But I am thinking of getting one before this trip. What the hell, it's only $

115' ??? My Dive Buddy better not breath much air and must have a 15' Octo....Hint Hint.....WW....Also I think I might need dual 120'sWoo!!!! Hoo!!! That is awesome my undersea cowboy!!OK I cant pass the chance to see a U-boat..count me in.
I just did 118' in Hawaii on an 80.....Looked at my computer (air integrated) 8 min of Air.....did end up having a 62 min dive but the average depth was 48'!
Now what I really am concerned about.....The last and current SD trip have had a hurricane scare.....do they get those in NC? My first day in Hawaii....I was in the fetal position on the boat after both dives...the second time was brutal
I am praying to Neptune......for calm waters

Yep we get them here.
I think the last major one that hit Raleigh was Fran, not sure of the year I was not living here then. However there have a been a few that have hit the coast since 1999 (when I moved to NC). I think Hugo paid a visit to the coast while I lived here. There really is no way to know what will happen with those storms. I have learned you can't live your life based on the potential of these storms, you can't stop them, if they visit, they visit.
Generally September is the month that has a higher potential for storms, but as we have seen it has been a very active July so it would be hard to know.
Storm or not (unless it hits Raleigh and I am housebound) I will be picking you up at the airport, just send me your flight info.

Sept is usually hurricane alley for NC...sometimes in late August but in my 10 years of doing dive charters to NC and 12 years total diving NC we've only been blown out once in August and that was mid to late Aug so the first week of August is pretty safe!
HOWEVER....it is always wise to buy trip insurance for this very reason. Here is a link to the company we use...very reasonable! -ww

Thanks Kamala for the heads up. Insurance is always a good idea.No worries Scott...all the current storm paths are headed to TEXAS or FLORIDA...none so far for NC.

But I am more concerned about what the Insurance does not cover.... rough waters for a person who gets "Sea sick walking in rain" and Air Hogs that breath 90 minutes of air in 40 minutes or less.....LOL....should of taken up golf!

If seas are normal you should do ok...if not we have places you can be sick in privacy! I know...I've used them all!
Meclazine is very good and effective for sea sickness and is non-drowsy. (Same active ingredient as Bonine but a fraction of the cost.)
Well we've got you in a steel 120 so I think we've got the air thing covered...you really must learn to relax when you dive...you'll breathe less!
