I found the Taxi fees: $25 each way from/to airport, plus some more from hotel to dock, I suppose.
Yeah I know: I've been branded a non-group person - doesn't play well with others. I am so upset. Let me know if you want to have some fun, without the drama - I'm good for that.

I've been waiting for 2 months for this trip to materialize, guess I'll wait another day or two.

When I just brought up this thread, there appeared to be a nano-second flash of your normal 1st page info concerning diving trips.

Once you have time to put up the post, please put me as interested, but can't quite commit. I need to be sure my work schedule is going to be clear first. Thanks!

Could you clarify the best airport (or code) for this possible trip?
Also if you can suggest the best hop situation for people flying out of Houston?

I would like to research the airfare before you get the final details together.

Since the Caribbean Explorer I departs out of George Town in the Bahamas, the only airport on that island (Great Exuma) is Exuma International, IATA airport code GGT. Makes it a bit more challenging to get to cheaply compared to flying into Nassau.

Next question -- do most people come in the night before and leave the day after porting?
I like the idea of getting in the day before -- just in case of flight delays and luggage mishaps and then leaving a day after getting off the boat.
They have a flight on that Friday that gets in in plenty of time to check into a nearby hotel and enjoy some late afternoon fun. If people gather early to enjoy the local night life I would be open to that.
Since we return to port on a Saturday it would make sense to hold over a night and do something locally on Saturday afternoon and evening?
Just curious how any of you that are interested in this trip have it planned out?

I dunno, the day I get off of a cruise or liveaboard, I'm always ready to catch the next flight home. Maybe others feel differently.

I found out Continental has a great flight set up with minimal holdovers in Fort Lauderdale. The fare is currently $586 out of Houston.

I'm planning on coming in the day before (Friday) - wasn't planning on staying Saturday on the back end. But, no reason I can't if a plan comes together.... I can get the same flight back to Fort Lauderdale on Sunday. Might as well make the most of the trip. Looks like there might be some funs things to check out at Georgetown.

I have a ticket on hold - SFO to GGT is almost as much as the tirp I'd arrive Friday afternoon.

I just priced your ticket at $787 - which is less than I price mine. But Monday afternoon is a poor time to shop for a ticket. Probly cheaper for Wednesday morning shopping. Can Bug get added to the definitely going list, lower cabin?
