We're still waiting for answers to "We all know that in 1776, 13 British colonies broke away from the empire. How many colonies did the Brits have in North America at the time?"
and to Jim's question, "What was the first ship sunk as a result of the US entering WW I (Yes its diveable) Part of it was also the first shot fired by the US after entering WW I" To be honest, I don't understand the question.

This from a song with a diving tie-in:
"Way down below the ocean, where I want to be, she may be."
Name the song and the last name of the singer.

Sorry I did not make it clear. The SMS Cormoran was inerned in Guam at the time we entered WW I and declared war on Germany. The US appointed military Govn'r of Guam demanded that the German captian surrender the ship. He refused and scuttled the ship. This was hours after the US had declared war on Germany. As the envoy that came to deliver the demand to surrender the ship was departing the German supply skiff approached unaware of the procedings. The US Lt that had delivered the message to surrender ordered the German supply skiff to change course. When they did not he had one of the US sailors fire a shot across its bow. This was the first US shot of WW I.
