All right, ladies (and guys, if you want to toss your 2 centavos in), this is one for the great comebacks category. One of those situations where you're caught by surprise and don't know what to say, but with the benefit of hindsight, you come up with all kinds of great replies far too late. I'd like to hear what witty responses you would have for this situation.

You're in a bar hanging out with your scuba group, dancing, having a great time. A scuba instructor from your group, but who you've just met, comes up to you and says,

"If you had bigger t**s you'd be a 10. You're an 8."

Realistically or ideally, how would you respond?

I agree with Walter! I am not sure what my response would have been - probably would have been based on how many cocktails I had in my system by then!! Hate you had to go through that!

Sense the gender of the scuba instructor wasnt mentioned. and if that scuba instructor said that to me!. I would have to say (eight is enough) it was a succesful TV show for years and I'm sure your glad to be standing here next to me ?

Let's see… first off I agree with what Sandy said…. depending on how much I drank and the atmosphere I think my decision on what I would say may vary.

Part of me hopes I had a drink in my hand that I can throw at him…(seems to work in the movies for getting a point across)

Part of me hopes I don’t have something in my hand so I would be able to slap him.
(Once again something in the movies and books that works)

Part of me hopes I had a witty comeback (although this is highly unlikely because I still can’t think of anything witty to say)

And what would actually probably happen is… I would be so shocked about him saying that…that I would stare at him blankly and then walk away. If he is that ignorant to say that to me then there is no use wasting a witty remark (which I still don’t have yet) on him because he wouldn’t get it anyways.

I think I really like Walter's response. Mine would be a bit cruder, I think.

As I was grabbing his *package* and applying *loving* pressure, I'd reply "If you had a bigger *hose* you'd be a 10... you feel more like a 4"

I totally agree, I love Coo's response to this... yet I think I would also do something possibly a little more drastic, which I'm not mentioning... I'll let ya'll imagination work on that one.

Had something similar happen to me...actually was able to think fairly quickly...when he said....if you were _____ you'd be a 10...I said..."Aw but too bad you can't count that high" and turned my back to him.

He's lucky that's all I said...had I been taking judo like I do now...my response might have been more like Coo's Toe!! Good one by the way....LOL!!!

LMAO! You all are hilarious! I love Coo's and WW and Walter's responses. Way to go WW for being so quick. And, Wrinkles, that's not too far from what I did, being so stunned. But for some reason it didn't upset me at all, but rather struck me as hilarious - I guess because I took it as "You're a 10, and I have this embarassing obsession with Budweiser girls" - so I just started laughing and said something like, "Good luck with that!" He got this blank look and wandered off. Laughing seemed to take away his power to be shocking and rude.

What I thought of later was, "If you didn't have such a big butt, you'd still be a 5."

Walter's response is my favorite. I doubt I would think of something like that.

Personally, I would like to have the writers of Designing Women come up with a Julia-like response. She had the best stuff ever!

I would probably go a bit further and report this guy to whomever is in a position to hurt him financially. He should not be allowed to continue this type of behavior with clients. I get the idea he was the DM for the dive group???

In other words, instead of a verbal reply, my response would be action of some sort to try to get this type of behavior to stop in the future.

The first thing that came to my mind in a situation like this is asking him if he purchased that charm of his at the dollar store, however, I think Coo's response would work wonders.. lol
